Linklaters has advised Eni, a multinational oil and gas company, together with its Area 4 partners, CNPC, ENH, GALP and KOGAS on an ECA-backed multi-billion dollar project financing for the USD8 billion Coral South floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Mozambique.
The financing is Africa’s largest ever project financing deal to date. It is also the world’s first project financing of a floating LNG facility.

Pan-European mid-market private equity firm Agilitas’ portfolio company Reconor, one of the leading environmental services groups in Denmark, has acquired 100 per cent of Lotra A/S, an environmental services business based in Kolding, Denmark.
Financial details for the transaction are not being disclosed.
Founded in 2000 by its CEO Lars Holger Hansen, Lotra offers complete solutions for the collection, treatment and recycling of soil and construction waste. The acquisition provides Reconor with a strong presence in the Jutland region of Denmark and gives the expanded business increased coverage across Denmark.

Private equity investor Advent International has signed an agreement to acquire Danish food packaging company Færch Plast A/S (Færch Plast) from private equity fund EQT VI. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

EMW, the commercial law firm, has advised Northampton-based real estate investment and development business, Barwood Capital on the initial GBP42 million close of its 2017 UK regional property fund.
EMW explains that the fund focuses on property assets within the UK’s prime regional markets outside of London. The GBP42m raised will be invested in sites which have the potential to increase in value through careful planning, redevelopment and asset management. Approximately 70 per cent of equity in the fund will be allocated to logistics and industrial properties.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Russian Railways International, alongside the Indian state engineering and construction company Ircon International Limited have agreed to jointly identify and invest in investments into railway infrastructure projects in Russia and India in order to improve commercial, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The relevant agreement was signed as part of the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.

EISER Finance Limited (EISER) has reached financial close on a portfolio sale of assets to a fund managed by 3i Group plc (3i) from the EISER Global Infrastructure Fund (EGIF).
As part of the original sales agreement with 3i, EISER’s existing investors in EGIF were offered the opportunity to choose liquidity or to remain invested in the assets through a right to reinvest into the new fund managed by 3i.
The portfolio sale includes all of EGIF’s UK assets, Belfast City Airport and ESP Utilities; its remaining Italian assets HERAmbiente, the Italian waste treatment and disposal company; as well

CIC Capital Canada, a member of the French banking group Crédit Mutuel CM11-CIC, has launched a USD500 million North American Growth Fund, with USD150 million dedicated to Canada, mainly for investment in Quebec and Ontario companies.
Established in Montreal since 2010, CIC Capital has managed the Emerillon Capital venture capital fund, a partnership with Desjardins, since 2013. This fund holds equity positions in a dozen promising Quebec and Ontario technology businesses and was an investor in Maluuba, an artificial intelligence company acquired by Microsoft in 2017.
In Canada, the new North American Growth Fund targets mainly CAD5 million
Alternative investment specialist LGT Capital Partners has completed the acquisition of European Capital Fund Management, a London- and Paris-based private debt manager, from Ares Capital.
European Capital’s funds will remain managed by the same team led by Matthew Gordon Clark, Etienne Haubold, Stéphane Legrand and JC Morales Cortes.
The European Capital team now constitutes the new private debt competence centre of LGT Capital Partners.
