Triple Point has strengthened its Private Credit Team with the appointment of highly-experienced growth capital specialist Sean Brophy as Head of Direct Lending.
With a wealth of experience in the financial sector, Brophy will focus on developing Triple Point’s SME lending loan book, as well as executing the Direct Lending team’s five –year asset growth plans. As Head of Direct Lending, Sean will work on providing SMEs with the capital they need, as well as supporting their M&A requirements. Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a private equity firm based in St Louis, has completed the sale of LTP Home Services Group (LTP), a residential plumbing and HVAC services platform, to L Catterton, a global consumer-focused private equity firm.
TSCP will retain a board seat and minority stake in the Company. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Founded in 1996 by Len Bush as “Len the Plumber,” LTP Home Services Group is a leading residential services company with a specialisation in plumbing and HVAC services, operating across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions under six brands.
Venture capital activity in Canada hit an all-time record high in the first quarter, with $3.5 billion in investment across 213 deals, up from $3 billion (across 276 deals) in the year-earlier quarter, according to the latest KPMG Private Enterprise Venture Pulse Q1 2022 report.

Taxfix, a Europe-based mobile tax app, has raised $220 million in a Series D funding round led by Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG), part of the CAD$242 billion Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board (Ontario Teachers).
Existing investors Index Ventures, Valar Ventures, Creandum, and Redalpine also particpated in the round which values Taxfix at over $1 billion.

Suntera Global has acquired US fund administration business Socium Fund Services in a key strategic move as the firm continues to grow and expand its international footprint into new global markets.
The acquisition of Socium, which requires no regulatory approval and completes with immediate effect, will strengthen Suntera Global’s offering for fund managers and provide the group with an important US operation for the first time, adding three key North American locations to its international footprint.
The deal is the seventh strategic acquisition made by Suntera Global since securing investment from leading mid-market investor Palatine in 2019.
