As part of its efforts to expand its investment management business in the Americas and enhance its overall offering, Nomura Holding America Inc. (NHA) is establishing a new business line and has appointed Robert Stark, former CEO of Alterum Capital Partners, as Head of Investment Management in the Americas.
In his new role, Stark will lead the growth and development of the investment management business with a particular emphasis on private markets.

Horizon Capital, a US private-equity firm investing in high growth export-oriented and domestic companies primarily in Emerging Europe, has acquired a minority stake in Miratech, becoming its largest finance investor in the process, via its $200 million Emerging Europe Growth Fund III, LP (EEGF III).
Horizon Capital will help Miratech to accelerate its ongoing global expansion in providing digital product engineering and customer experience design services to renowned global companies.
Glennmont Partners from Nuveen (Glennmont), a clean energy infrastructure investment specialist, has divested its Margam Green Energy Plant (Margam) to Greencoat Capital (Greencoat).
Margam is an operational 41.8MWe bioenergy plant located in South Wales near Port Talbot, which is fuelled by waste wood and generates renewable power. It benefits from accreditation for 1.4 ROCs per MWh and has 15 years of ROC life remaining.

The report recaps Q1 2022 private equity activity following a record year of dealmaking and amidst market volatility and geopolitical tension.

Evanston Capital Management (Evanston Capital), an alternative investment management firm, has completed the final close of ECM Blockchain Fund I LP with $58 million in capital commitments.
The fund closed above its original target of $50 million.

Mozart Data, an all-in-one modern data platform, has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Craft Ventures.
Goldcrest Capital, Spearhead, Apollo Projects, and Valor Equity Partners also participated in the round.
Mozart Data provides a Snowflake data warehouse, ETL, transformation, and other no-code tools to consolidate, organise, and clean company data before the analysis stage. Mozart’s all-in-one data platform decreases company time and resources spent on building and maintaining data infrastructure. The new funding brings the company’s total funds raised to $21M.

Meghan Hillery joins CoVenture as Director of Business Development. Prior to CoVenture, she was a Technology, Media & Telecom Leveraged Finance Senior Analyst at Capital One.
Additionally, Rajinder Singh joins CoVenture as a Credit Associate. Prior to CoVenture, he was an Investment Banking Analyst at Guggenheim Partners.
Galileo Technologies, a company that deploys a unique technology to capture natural gas from any source and convert it into Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) on-site, has secured a major cornerstone investment from Helmerich & Payne (H&P), North America’s largest land drilling solutions provider.
Galileo is backed by private equity firm Bluewater.
H&P invested $33 million into the Company in the form of a convertible note. The convertible note bears interest of 5% per annum and is due April 2027. If exercised, the note would convert into common shares of Galileo at an enterprise value of $1.35 billion.
Apis Growth Fund I, a private equity fund managed by Apis Partners (Apis Partners), a UK-based asset manager that supports growth stage financial services and financial infrastructure businesses, has successfully partially exited its position in off-grid solar energy company Sun King, formerly Greenlight Planet.
Sun King thas competed a $260 million Series D capital raise, with investment led by BeyondNetZero, the climate investing venture of General Atlantic.
