Global private equity investor Advent International (Advent) is to acquire IRCA, an Italian producer of specialty ingredients for artisanal pastries, cakes and gelatos, from global investment firm Carlyle.  Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Headquartered in Gallarate, Italy, IRCA currently supports artisan chefs in over 100 countries. It employs over 1,000 people and has seven production plants and four innovation and demonstration kitchens in Europe, North America and Asia. Carlyle invested in IRCA in June 2017 through Carlyle Europe Partners IV (CEP IV), a European-focused, upper mid-market buyout fund.  Advent will work with the current IRCA management team
Ninety One has launched the Global Sustainable Equity Strategy, a concentrated, active, long-term global equity solution focused on sustainability leaders, which is managed by Stephanie Niven.   It will complement Ninety One’s suite of sustainable capabilities, inclusive of Global Environment, UK Sustainable Equity and Global Multi Asset Sustainable Growth.   The Global Sustainable Equity strategy is investing for a world transitioning towards a more sustainable future where externalities will be increasingly priced and valued. 
Pan-European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital has entered into a binding agreement to sell Prefere Resins (Prefere), a specialist in phenolic and melamine resins, to One Rock Capital Partners (One Rock). Completion of the transaction is subject to customary anti-trust and FDI approvals and is expected to occur in the second or third quarter of 2022.  The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.    Silverfleet invested in Prefere Resins in 2018 having identified the potential to help the Company expand further, both organically and through acquisition. Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in mid-market companies, has acquired SPL, a specialist in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services for energy and environmental markets.  Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. SPL, an industry leader in TIC services, serves more than 1,700 customers, including some of the largest global energy companies. SPL operates 22 lab testing and service centres that analyse hundreds of thousands of samples annually for physical and chemical composition of hydrocarbons, lubricants, and wastewater. Netomnia, a provider of full fibre broadband infrastructure, and internet service provider YouFibre (collectively, the “Group”) have secured £295 million in new funding in a round led by DigitalBridge Investment Management (DigitalBridge), the investment management platform of DigitalBridge Group, Inc.  DigitalBridge’s equity investment will come alongside follow-on commitments from existing shareholders Soho Square Capital LLP and Advencap Limited.   Founded by CEO Jeremy Chelot, who has a strong track record in the full fibre network sector, Netomnia is committed to delivering a multi-gigabit broadband network across the UK. Irish private equity firm Melior Equity Partners has held the final close of Melior Equity Partners Fund II with EUR160 million of total capital commitments, making it one of the largest private equity funds in the country.  Melior was launched by Jonathan Cosgrave and Peter Garvey in 2020. Investec Bank (Investec) has advised LRG Online (trading as Secret Sales) on an equity fundraising round to accelerate its international expansion.  Investec acted as sole adviser to Secret Sales, which saw existing investors increase their backing at a higher valuation. Secret Sales closed its Series A funding round in June 2021, with the investment used for technological development to scale its e-commerce platform and prepare for international expansion.  The funding announced coincides with the first phase of its European rollout through the launch of two new international websites in the Netherlands and Belgium.  The latest round of investment will further
Insurance Advisory Partners, a specialist insurance M&A, strategic and capital-raising advisory firm, has appointed Bhaven Pathak as partner and head of UK & Europe, effective 1 May, subject to regulatory approval.  Pathak will be responsible for leading and developing Insurance Advisory Partners’ operations in London, following the company’s launch in New York in August by banking, insurance and insurtech veterans Tony Ursano and David Kimmel. Pathak brings more than 20 years of insurance, fintech and investment banking experience to Insurance Advisory Partners including roles at HSBC, Hiscox and Canopius.   
HCAP Partners, a California-based private equity firm and nationally recognised impact investor, has appointed Tom Woelfel as senior director of impact. Woelfel joined HCAP Partners to lead the Gainful Jobs Approach and overall impact management efforts, partnering with HCAP portfolio companies and collaborating with limited partners and industry thought leaders to improve job quality and generate positive impact in LMI communities.
