POLARIS Investment Advisory AG (POLARIS) has added three investors as senior advisors to its advisory board – Dajana Brodmann, Marc Lau and Pablo López de Ayala.
The trio will support POLARIS with the selection and assessment of new investment opportunities in the areas of Private Equity, Private Debt and Infrastructure. In addition, the appointments reflect the increasing importance of the Asian markets for POLARIS’ private markets activities and the necessary country-specific competencies.
Brodmann is responsible for E.ON’s private equity and infrastructure portfolio, Lau is a managing partner of Axiom Asia, a specialist in private equity strategies in Asia, while López
Lower-mid market private equity firm NorthEdge has made a series of promotions and a new appointment across its Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham offices, including the appointment of two new partners – Lucie Mills and Phil Frame.
Mills has been instrumental in driving NorthEdge’s value creation approach and embedding it across the portfolio since joining the business in 2019, as Head of Business Transformation.
She will continue to work closely with portfolio management teams to deliver on their value creation plans, as well as build on NorthEdge’s ESG credentials, which recently saw the firm achieve top performer status in the
Mayer Brown Capital Markets, a debt and equity capital markets practice advising clients across the United States, Europe and Asia, has appointed Dr Susanne Lenz as a partner.
Lenz is a capital markets practitioner qualified in Germany and New York. She will be based in Frankfurt and will focus on equity and debt capital markets transactions in both Germany and the United States. Her appointment further expands Mayer Brown’s growing European capabilities in advising companies on IPOs, private placements, and other equity offerings, and complements its special focus on equity, tech and life sciences.

The London Technology Club (LTC), a community in Europe for investment opportunities in the technology sector, has launched its third fund in three years aimed at scale-up tech companies – particularly in the AI, fintech and mobility sectors.
The fund will offer access to multiple direct co-investment opportunities and leading venture funds. It is targeting a capacity of USD40 million-plus that will be deployed across 20–25 investments over a one-year period with a focus on high growth tech companies in the US, UK, Europe and MENA geographies.

Maor II has also made its first investment in SupPlant, an Israeli Agritech that offers innovative irrigation solutions to growers.
More than 90 per cent of the investors in the predecessor fund Maor I have committed to teh more fund along with new French and European LPs.

TeraFlex’s Founder and CEO Mark Falkner, president Benjamin Falkner, and VP of organizational development Ian Falkner will remain with the combined company.
Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
CardioRenal, a company specialised in improving treatment at home for patients with severe chronic kidney disease (CKD), has secured funds of EUR3.3 million (USD3.7 million) from business angels and longstanding company shareholders (the management) as part of a round of seed capital financing.
This funding will enable the company to pursue its plan to achieve clinical and regulatory approval in preparation for the CE marking of its integrated tool, which is expected in 2023. Actis, a global investor in sustainable infrastructure, has successfully exited Echoenergia, Brazil’s largest independent renewable energy platform, through a sale to the listed utilities company Equatorial Energia.
The exit of Echoenergia represents the third successful realisation of a major energy investment in Latin America by Actis in the last 12 months. This exit followed the sale of Aela Energía, the largest renewable energy IPP In Chile, to Innergex Renewable Energy, and the sale of Saavi Energia, a leading independent power provider (IPP) in Mexico, to Global Infrastructure Partners.
