Pantheon Infrastructure (PINT), a listed global infrastructure fund, is to invest EUR43 million (GBP36 million at current exchange rates) in a European transport and logistics company through Pomodoro Holdings Limited (Pomodoro), a company controlled by funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management (Apollo). Apollo is a leading global alternative investment firm with a successful track record in the transport and logistics sector.  This is PINT’s first investment since it launched on the London Stock Exchange following a successful and substantially over-subscribed GBP400 million initial public equity offering in November 2021.   The investee company is a specialist market leader
NIO Capital, a Chinese investment firm focused on decarbonisation and digitalisation, has held the successful final closing of NIO Capital’s flagship fund, Eve ONE Fund II at approximately USD400 million. The fund was oversubscribed and quickly surpassed its original target fund size and hard cap. Notably, this Fund has nearly doubled the capital commitments of its predecessor fund, NIO Capital Eve ONE Fund LP, which held its final closing in 2019. Mutumutu International, an online life & income protection insurance startup, is aiming to raise EUR5.5 million in Series A funding. The funding is to be used mainly for Mutumutu’s expansion across Europe.  Mutumutu aims to maintain a high level of customer engagement using a smart application with weekly sports challenges and regular cashback rewards for sports activities. This proposition leads to an excellent customer rating and a high Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 75.  In the past two has years Mutumutu successfully raised EUR3.7 million from French bancassurance giant Societe Generale Assurances. ClearBank, a clearing and embedded banking platform in the UK, has secured a GBP175 million equity investment led by funds advised by Apax Digital, the growth equity arm of Apax, a global private equity advisory firm. Existing investors, CFFI UK Ventures (Barbados) Ltd and PPF Financial Holdings BV, also participated. The new investment will accelerate ClearBank’s global expansion of its clearing and embedded banking offering, initially in Europe before moving into North America and Asia Pacific. The first new clearing bank in the UK in over 250 years at launch in 2017, ClearBank is the only next generation payments provider
Lune, a provider of software tools that make it easier for any business to integrate climate impact into its customer experience – starting with carbon emissions calculations and carbon removal, has raised USD4 million in a funding round led by early-stage VC Crane. Centricus, a London-based global investment firm, has confirmed it has made an official bid to acquired Fordstam Limited (CFC Group), the parent company of Chelsea FC. Centricus sees this as an opportunity to make a long-term investment in the Chelsea FC (and CFC Group affiliates).  Centricus will be committed to supporting the Company and its key stakeholders to ensure its continued success. Centricus says that if its offer is successful, it would be focused on ensuring that the CFC Group continues to achieve sporting excellence, high level of community support, transparent governance, financial sustainability, fan engagement and exemplary custodianship.
Omniplex Learning, a provider of learning and development services, has acquired SAAS digital adoption specialist Nickelled. The digital adoption solution will become a core element of Omniplex Learning’s portfolio under the name Omniplex Guide. The addition of Omniplex Guide expands Omniplex Learning’s current suite of digital learning products, which includes award-winning authoring tool Articulate 360 and market-leading Learning Management Software, Docebo.   Omniplex Learning is supported by leading mid-market private equity firm LDC.
Clean energy investing can make financial as well as climate sense, according to a new report from Imperial College Business School. Construction Partners, a vertically integrated civil infrastructure company specialising in the construction and maintenance of roadways across five southeastern US states, has acquired the asphalt, grading and sitework operational assets of GAC Contractors, including its hot-mix asphalt plant in Panama City, Florida. Construction Partners nor operates 57 hot-mix asphalt plants, 14 aggregate facilities and one liquid asphalt terminal. Publicly funded projects make up the majority of its business and include local and state roadways, interstate highways, airport runways and bridges.  The majority of the Company’s public projects are maintenance-related.
