Seward & Kissel has promoted Lancelot (Lance) King, a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group in Washington DC, from associate to counsel. The promotion is effective 1 April, 2019.
King’s practice focuses on a broad range of regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters affecting investment companies and registered investment advisers. His experience includes counselling clients in the establishment, registration, and operation of registered investment companies; developing and reviewing compliance programs for investment companies and investment advisers; and counselling clients undergoing regulatory examinations.

Funds managed by Searchlight Capital Partners (Searchlight) are to acquire a 26 per cent stake in Latécoère from funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, an affiliate of investment funds managed by Monarch Alternative Capital (Monarch), and CVi Partners.
Searchlight is paying a total of USD106.8 million, equivalent to EUR 3.85 per share.
The Agreement provides for a top-up provision in the event Searchlight files a tender offer on Latécoère at a higher price within 12 months following closing and such tender offer is consummated.
This transaction is still subject to usual regulatory clearances, including CFIUS and certain antitrust
Quilam Capital, a provider of both debt and equity solutions to companies in the speciality finance sector, has announced its seventh investment since it launched late 2017.
Quilam has made a multi-million-pound investment into Propensio Finance Limited, a technology-led niche consumer finance platform, which provides unsecured loans to home owners to fund home improvements. The business has a strong network and relationships with home improvement product providers throughout the UK.
Propensio was founded and run by Dave Hindle who has significant experience in the sector having been lending to the home improvement market for over twenty years. The business
MJ Hudson has advised Maven Capital Partners on the final closing of Maven UK Regional Buyout Fund, its debut institutional private equity buyout fund, securing total commitments (including co-investment vehicles) of GBP100 million.
The Fund’s investment strategy is to target management buyout opportunities in UK companies with an enterprise value of GBP10 million to GBP40 million, aiming to invest between GBP5 million and GBP15 million in each transaction.

ARQIS has advised the TRIGO Group, an international provider of operational quality management solutions for the manufacturing industry, on the acquisition of the business operations of QSSL Industrieservice, a provider of quality assurance services to the automotive industry, from its insolvency administrator Ilkin Bananyarli (PLUTA) as part of a transferring reorganisation.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
