Mimecast Limited, an email and data security company, has acquired Ataata, a cybersecurity training and awareness platform. Mimecast says the acquisition will allow customers to measure cyber risk training effectiveness by converting behaviour observations into actionable risk metrics for security professionals. Expanding its investment platform in the mid-market restaurant franchise segment, High Bluff Capital Partners (HBCP) has acquired Taco Del Mar, a fast-casual chain featuring coastal Mexican cuisine, from Franchise Brands. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Leading independent fund and corporate services provider, the Aztec Group, has assisted the Dementia Discovery Fund (DDF) with its final close and will continue to support the fund with its ongoing administration. Managed by SV Health, the DDF is a specialist fund that provides venture finance for companies developing new medicines for dementia. Bacharach, a provider of HVAC-R gas instrumentation and energy management solutions and a portfolio company of FFL Partners, has acquired Neutronics Inc, a provider of refrigerant and gas analysers. Neutronics’ technologies serve the automotive and commercial HVAC markets, and provide high-purity oxygen analysers to the semi-conductor industry, and self-contained breathing units to the safety and rescue industry.   Financial terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.   The combination of Bacharach and Neutronics will significantly strengthen Bacharach’s ability to provide the worldwide HVAC-R and Automotive markets with high quality Fixed and Portable Gas Test and Measurement Instrumentation.  
Paediatric home healthcare company Aveanna Healthcare (Aveanna) has completed the acquisition of Premier Healthcare Services (Premier), a provider of paediatric services to patients in California, with additional operations in Colorado and Texas. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Abingworth, an international investment group dedicated to life sciences, has held the final closing of its latest fund, Abingworth Bioventures VII (ABV VII) at USD315 million. ABV VII exceeded its target of USD300 million and is Abingworth’s 12th fund, investing in life sciences companies in Europe and the US. The firm has funds under management of over USD1.2 billion.   The fund invests broadly across all stages of development including early and late-stage venture deals, Clinical Co-development, VIPEs (Venture Investments in Public Equities) and public equities. Investment size per company will typically range from USD15 million to USD30 million.  
ARQIS has advised Shimadzu Corporation on the acquisition of all shares in infraserv Vakuumservice, which is involved in servicing turbomolecular pumps in Europe. infraserv Vakuumservice has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Shimadzu. With 25 employees, infraserv Vakuumservice reached annual net sales of EUR4.9 million in 2017. The company is based near Munich and servicing vacuum equipment for major semiconductor and equipment manufacturers in Europe. It has advanced technological capabilities and good relationships with their customers.
