The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) has acquired a majority shareholding in TestPlant, maker of the eggPlant range of software tools. Carlyle is investing in partnership with the existing management team. The Carlyle Group is a global alternative asset manager with USD188 billion of assets under management. TestPlant was founded in 2008 by CEO George Mackintosh and Chairman Jon Richards, with support from Seraphim Capital, a London-based venture capital firm. QIC – a global diversified alternative investment firm – has appointed Eric Belman to the QIC Global Infrastructure team in its newly-established New York office. Belman will lead the firm’s infrastructure origination, investment and execution efforts in North America.
