Harvey Schwartz, CEO of The Carlyle Group, the world’s fifth largest private equity firm, and former President and Co-COO at Goldman Sachs, has set new targets for the private equity firm’s growth and profitability, after a period of high interest rates and senior management issues, according to a report by the Financial Times. 
The Riverside Company, a global private equity investment firm focused on the lower end of middle-market companies, has closed its Riverside Acceleration Capital Opportunity Fund II, raising $235m in capital commitments and subsequently increasing its growth equity investment capacity by more than four times. 
The $1.3bn strategic capital arm of $50bn global alternative manager Investcorp has taken a minority stake in $7.3bn private equity manager Banner Ridge Partners and is now a passive, non-voting partner in the business.
Fund administration provider Suntera Global has appointed James Harries as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions as part of its global growth strategy. In his new London-based role, Harries will be responsible for driving the firm’s M&A activity.
Charlesbank Capital Partners, a US private equity firm focused on management-led buyouts, growth capital financings and credit and technology investments, has acquired independent financial advisor Perspective Financial Group from London-based private equity firm CBPE Capital, which first invested in Perspective in 2019.
