Electric car subscription service Onto has raised a new credit funding line of £100 million from global investment group CDPQ and independent asset manager Pollen Street. The asset-backed facility will enable Onto to continue expanding its UK fleet with the latest electric car models.  This new facility builds on the existing relationship between Onto and Pollen Street, which has been a finance partner to the business since July 2021. The facility also represents a new partnership between Pollen Street and CDPQ.  Onto’s monthly subscription model is all-inclusive of insurance, breakdown cover and free public charging. Apollo Global Management is weighing up a bid for Millicom International Cellular and has entered into negotiations with the Latin American telecoms company about a takeover that could value the business at around $10 billion, including debt, according to a report by the Financial Times.
An affiliate of global private investment firm Bain Capital Private Equity has sold its stake in diversified maritime logistics player J M Baxi Ports & Logistics to German shipping and container transportation company Hapag-Lloyd.

Hipgnoisis Song Management, a Blackstone-backed, UK investment firm focussed on music catalogues and royalties, has acquired the rights to Justice Bieber’s publishing and recorded music back-catalogue in a deal valued at around $200 million, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. The deal covers more than 290 titles released by the Canadian singer before the end of 2021. Accordiong to Hipgnosis, Universal Music Group will retain ownership of Bieber’s master recordings, or recorded music copyrights, in perpetuity. JC Flowers & Co, a private investment firm dedicated to investing globally in the financial services industry, has appointed Dan Meade as managing director and head of business development and investor relations.
Robert Bendiner Weiss has joined Kramer Levin as a partner in the firm’s New York office. He will practice in the Investment Management group, broadening its private fund formation practice. Weiss focuses on private fund formation and advises clients on private equity, credit, ESG and venture fund structures as well as transactional and regulatory matters relating to investment funds. Weiss comes to Kramer Levin from K&L Gates. He earned his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and his AB from Princeton University.
