Permira Credit, one of Europe’s leading alternative credit providers, has appointed Ian Jackson as head of its new Permira Strategic Opportunities (PSO) strategy.
Jackson, who joins Permira Credit on 1 July 2022, brings over 25 years of experience in private credit, with a proven track record of advising on special situations investment opportunities. He joins Permira Credit from Carlyle, which he joined in 2009, and was most recently a managing director and head of Carlyle Strategic Partners.

Black Swan Data – a data science and consumer behaviour prediction company – has closed an $18.5 million growth fundraise led by Oxx, a venture capital firm that backs Europe’s most promising B2B SaaS companies, with participation from existing investor AlbionVC.
The funding will be invested in developing more advanced features and capabilities in Trendscope, Black Swan’s core software platform, and continuing expansion in the US market.

US middle-market private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners has sold Mercury Healthcare, a technology and data analytics company, to WebMD Health Corp, an Internet Brands company and a leader in health information services for consumers, physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The combination of WebMD and Mercury Healthcare will help transform the patient experience by supporting more efficient and effective communication with patients and caregivers.

Jon Gelsey (Founding CEO, Auth0), Frederic Kerrest (Executive Vice Chairman, Co-founder & COO, Okta), Kickstart Seed Fund, Founder’s Co-op, Osage Venture Partners, Forward VC, and a dozen additional angel investors also participated.
The round is the largest of its kind in the decentralised identity category to date.
