Nomura Holdings is to acquire shares in forestry asset management company New Forests Pty Limited (New Forests).
As a result of the acquisition, Nomura will own 41% of New Forests shares.
Under the agreement, Mitsui & Co, Ltd (Mitsui), which currently owns 22.98% of New Forests shares, will increase its shareholding to 49%.
New Forests is the second largest unlisted forestry asset management company in the world and the largest one in Asia Pacific, with AUD7.8 billion in assets under management across over 1.1 million hectares of investments.
The UK is among the top five global markets for venture capital (VC) funding. A total of 639 VC funding deals were announced in the country during January-April 2022 while the disclosed funding value of these deals stood at $11.1 billion, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Canadian venture capital firm Round13 has launched a new fund dedicated to investing in the emerging blockchain and digital assets market.
The fund, which has raised $70 million to date and is targeting $100 million, is operated by Managing Partners and blockchain/digital asset market veterans, Satraj Bambra and Khaled Verjee.
The lead investor is a major Canadian pension fund, with additional participation from institutions, high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and members of the Round13 team.
