The New Jersey Department of the Treasury’s Division of Investment has appointed Dana Johns as its new head of private equity with immediate effect. Johns was previously a member of the PE team at the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System. Johns has more than 20 years of experience investing and managing multi-billion dollar global portfolios of institutional alternative investment assets.  She is board chair of the Private Equity Women Investor Network and a member of the Institutional Limited Partners Association Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council, Academy for Institutional Investors Editorial Committee, AIF Women’s Leadership Steering Committee, and the SEO
Paul Hastings has bolstered its global finance platform with the addition of a three-partner finance group comprising Marc Lashbrook, Josh Zelig, and David Barash in New York from the Band 1 practice at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP. The trio is known for their transactional work for clients including JP Morgan, Bank of America, and Barclays, as well as dozens of other banks and direct lenders across from the world’s leading private equity firms and public and private companies. Global private equity firm Permira has appointed David Floyd as a senior adviser to its global Healthcare team. Floyd brings over 35 years of experience in healthcare with a particular focus on the medical device industry. Floyd’s professional experience spans international leadership roles including group president of orthopaedics, Stryker Corporation from 2012 to 2019, where he oversaw a number of acquisitions – most notably Mako Surgical, and also Instratek, Small Bone Innovations and Stanmore Implants. He was previously worldwide president, DePuy Orthopaedics (nowy DePuy Synthes) initially with US responsibility, before being promoted to global responsibility, and also worked at Abbott
Global investment firm KKR has appointed Dan Pietrzak as global head of private credit. Most recently, Pietrzak served as co-head of private credit alongside Matthieu Boulanger, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.
I Squared Capital, a global infrastructure investment manager, has appointed Gautam Bhandari, co-founder and managing partner, as global chief investment officer, responsible for leading the firm’s investment strategy in close collaboration with founder, chairman and managing partner Sadek Wahba.

Sovereign Capital Partners, a UK private equity buy & build specialist focused on specific service-based sectors, has promoted four of its team to partner status – Jake Warman, James Buckhalter, Peter Eckersley and Tom Wilding. Warman has been promoted to Talent Partner and will have an enlarged focus on Board development and other management enhancement activities. He joined Sovereign in 2014, before becoming an Investment Director in 2017 and then a Director in 2019. Fonkert, who is based in Monument Group’s recently opened Amsterdam office, will be part of the European distribution team. Fonkert brings extensive consulting and institutional sales experience to the role. He was most recently responsible for business development among institutional investors for Amundi, Europe’s largest asset manager, consulting across a range of asset classes. Prior to Amundi, Lars was at financial data and analytics firm FactSet, managing a base of institutional, investment banking and private equity accounts. Lars holds a MSc. in Business Administration
Hazeltree, a provider of treasury and liquidity management solutions for the alternative asset management industry, has appointed Jeremy Payne as the company’s new chief product officer to enhance the firm’s offering for both hedge fund private equity firms.
Stanley Capital Partners, a European-focused mid-market private equity firm investing in healthcare and resource efficiency businesses, has appointed Amber Hilkene as partner and chief growth officer, effective 15 May 2023.
