UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) has appointed three senior industry experts to establish a new energy storage strategy, further expanding the sustainable investing solutions provided by its Real Estate & Private Markets business.
Mark Saunders, George Manahilov and Ken-Ichi Hino bring a wealth of expertise in the development of, and investment in, renewable energy. They will be based in New York. Saunders and Manahilov will co-head the energy storage strategy, reporting to Tommaso Albanese, Head of Infrastructure in UBS AM’s Real Estate & Private Markets business
Elron Ventures, an Israeli early-stage investment firm focusing on cybersecurity and enterprise software startups, has added four domain experts to its Advisory Board.
Drawbridge, a provider of cybersecurity software and solutions to the alternative investment industry, has appointed Edna M Conway to its Board of Directors.
Conway brings decades of experience and leadership delivering trust, transparency, compliance, risk management, sustainability and supply chain transformation to organisations. She currently serves as Security & Risk Officer for Microsoft Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure, where she is responsible for the security, resiliency and governance of the cloud infrastructure upon which Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud business operates.
Blackstone has appointed David Ben-Ur and Atish Nigam to senior leadership roles in the Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM) business.
Ben-Ur will be the Chief Investment Officer of BAAM’s hedge fund solutions business (BPS) and Atish will serve as the Chief Investment Officer of BAAM’s special situations investing business (BSOF).
In conjunction with Ben-Ur’s hire, BAAM ahas also greed on preliminary terms to manage the assets of CAM Capital, Bruce Kovner’s family office.
Sandeep Banga has joined private equity house Key Capital Partners (KCP) as Investment Manager in its London office.
A chartered accountant and experienced corporate finance adviser, Banga joins from HomeServe plc where he worked as Head of Corporate Development managing the company’s merger and acquisition strategy. Previously, he spent four years with Moore Stephens, latterly as a Senior Associate in their corporate finance team, having initially joined as part of their graduate programme.
Traub Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm, has appointed Sean Reilly as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer.
Reilly has 20 years of experience in the private equity sector. Prior to joining Traub Capital Partners, he partnered with several former colleagues in an entrepreneurial venture that launched and expanded Carta Fund Services, LLC, a fund administrator platform, which was acquired by a large Luxembourg-based company. Reilly also served as Chief Financial Officer of Clean Energy Partners, LP for more than five years. He has also held senior private equity finance roles with Blackstone and Credit Suisse.
Mercury Capital Advisors has appointed Masashi Hirose as Partner and Eugene Park as Principal to boost distribution and project management efforts for the firm, respectively.
Hirose, who joins Mercury from Teneo Partners, is based in Tokyo, while Park, who has spent the last nine years at First Avenue Partners, ark has joined Mercury’s New York office.
Hirose’s experience covers real estate, infrastructure, private equity, direct loans, hedge funds and venture capital, while Park has completed significant capital raises across a variety of fund types and direct deals in key asset classes including infrastructure, private credit, and private equity.
Sun Capital Partners (Sun Capital), a private investment firm focused on investing in defensible businesses in growing markets with tangible performance improvement opportunities, has appointed Howard Eisen as Principal on the Investor Relations team, and Jennifer Wildroudt as Vice President of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG).
Eisen has over 20 years of investor relations and investment fund experience to Sun Capital. He joins from TMF Group, where he was Head of Business Development and was responsible for developing a full range of asset services to fund managers globally. Wildroudt meanwhile, brings more than a decade of ESG experience, most recently from
North Sky Capital (North Sky), a specialist in impact investing, has appointed Monica Ravi as an Associate with the firm’s Impact Secondaries practice.
Prior to joining North Sky, Ravi worked as both a Credit and an Investment Analyst at Commerce Bancshares, Inc, performing bottom-up analysis on portfolio companies, identifying divestment opportunities, and serving as part of a team managing USD3.6 billion in investments.
HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets asset manager, has appointed Cicely Yanxia Sun as a managing director and co-head of the firm’s Beijing office.
Sun, who has more than 15 years of experience in finance and joins HarbourVest from Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), where she was Head of China Institutional Business, will be responsible for enhancing and building relationships with institutional investors in China.
