Law firm Collyer Bristow has added senior commercial real estate lawyer Simon Edwards to the firm’s 25-strong Real Estate practice.
Edwards, who joined the firm on 2 January 2019 as a Partner, has had a career spanning 30 years in the London commercial real estate market, with particular expertise in managing the sale, purchase, asset management and financing of high value assets and portfolios. His clients include funds, investors, high net worth individuals and property companies.

Stephen Moore, a former Rothschild and PwC dealmaker, is opening a Leeds office for Cavu Corporate Finance. He joins Shawn Bone, a prominent North East dealmaker who founded Cavu in Newcastle in 2013 and has established the independent advisory firm as a leading provider of expert corporate finance advice.

Sidley Austin has appointed John H Butler as a partner and member of the firm’s global M&A and Private Equity practice, in New York.
Butler, who joins from Davis Polk & Wardwell, counsels clients on high-profile mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, restructurings and general corporate representations. Sidley Austin has appointed Steven Kolyer as a partner in the firm’s Global Finance practice in New York.
Formerly a partner with Clifford Chance, Kolyer practice focuses on securitsations, with a particular emphasis in collateralised loan obligations (CLOs). His CLO practice includes both corporate loan CLOs and commercial real estate CLOs (CRE CLOs).
Kolyer has extensive experience representing issuers, managers and arrangers in corporate loan CLOs and in CRE CLOs, as well as in establishing debt investment funds and related financings.
