Moelis & Company, an independent investment bank, has apointed Pablo de la Infiesta as a Managing Director and Head of the Private Funds Advisory (PFA) group in EMEA. He will join the Firm’s London office in October and will provide capital raising, secondary and other advisory services to private fund sponsors and limited partners globally.   De la Infiesta has over 20 years of private equity fund placement, secondary advisory, and investment banking experience. Dr Gunther Thumann has been formally appointed Chairman of Jersey Finance. Dr Gunther Thumann graduated summa cum laude with a PhD in economics and statistics from the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nurnberg and, between 1978 and 1994, was an Economist in the German civil service and subsequently Senior Economist for the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC.   After joining Salomon Brothers in London as Managing Director, in the late 1990s he founded a consultancy specialising in central banks. In 2007 Dr Thumann was appointed Partner, CEO and Chairman of the board of Brevan Howard Capital Management in Jersey (Channel Islands)

Benjamin Gillooly, Ogier
Ogier has promoted two senior investment funds specialists in its Cayman team in recognition of their experience and technical skill. Ben Gillooly (pictured), has been promoted to Counsel, while Justin Savage has become a Managing Associate.   Gillooly Ben works with major financial institutions, hedge fund managers and their onshore counsel with a particular focus on Latin American financial markets. He is Caymanian and has been qualified in the jurisdiction for more than ten years. Gillooly also has experience working in Hong Kong.   Ogier introduced the new Counsel role to the firm’s structure at the start of the year.
Inflexion has promoted Andrew Mainwaring and Andrew Priest to Partner with immediate effect. A further five promotions have also been announced across the firm’s team. This follows Inflexion’s very recent investment in ProLabs, representing the tenth investment in under a year.   Mainwaring is a Partner within Inflexion’s Enterprise Fund team. Matt Smith, SteelEye
SteelEye, the compliance technology and data analytics firm, has appointed Matt Smith (pictured), a highly-experienced regulatory tech specialist, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Smith’s appointment is aimed at helping drive the firm’s growth as it markets its secure and scalable data storage platform which incorporates best-in-class analytics. The SteelEye product has been designed to help financial firms meet their obligations under MiFID II, whilst also acquiring valuable insights into their businesses.   Smith brings over 18 years of technology and management expertise to SteelEye. MARU Group (MARU), a technology-enabled market and customer insights group which is backed by private equity firm Primary Capital Partners, has appointed Heather McRae as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with immediate effect. This appointment further strengthens the Group’s operational expertise, as it pursues its acquisitive growth strategy.   McRae brings over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector, in numerous senior finance positions.
