Ares Management has appointed Peter Higgins as a Partner and Portfolio Manager in the Ares Credit Group.
Higgins will be based in London and will help lead the expansion of Ares’ European leverage finance product offerings alongside the existing European Credit team. Higgins was most recently with BlueBay Asset Management, where he was Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager for its Global Leveraged Finance group. After graduating with a BA from Columbia University, he developed his global leveraged finance capabilities with positions in London and New York at Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse First Boston and Prudential Securities.

Muzinich & Co (Singapore) Pt. Limited has obtained a Capital Markets Services License for fund management from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Eric Pictet (pictured), who has held various senior positions in Europe since joining the firm in 2003, will have primary oversight of the Singapore office.

Private equity secondary firm NewQuest Capital Partners (NewQuest) has opened a new office in Mumbai, its third in Asia.

Private equity search specialist Drax has appointed energy industry expert Scott Eversman to head up and develop the firm’s Energy practice.
Eversman is joining the firm as a Partner and will be responsible for talent advisory on behalf of private equity clients in the wider energy market.
Eversman joins Drax from Heidrick & Struggles where he was a Partner and member of the Board and CEO Practice and the Global Oil and Gas and Industrial Practices. He has more than 25 years of experience in board and executive search, CEO succession and board evaluations.

Rabobank has appointed Donald Meltzer, currently Vice Chairman, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions North America will assume the role of Global Head of M&A.
In addition to his global responsibilities, Meltzer will continue to lead the North American M&A business, a critical component of Rabobank’s global M&A strategy. In his new role, he will become a member of the management team of Global Corporate Clients and continue to be part of the Corporate Clients North America management team.

Pension asset manager APG’s Senior Responsible Investment and Governance Specialist, Marta Jankovic, has been confirmed as the new Chair of Invest Europe, the association representing European private equity, venture capital and their global investors.
Last year, European private equity fundraising for investment into companies across Europe hit its highest level since 2008 last year at EUR74 billion, according to Invest Europe data released in May. Pension funds accounted for over a third of the capital raised.

Sanne has appointed Sean Murray as its new head of fund services for the EMEA region.
Based in Sanne’s Luxembourg office, Murray will take responsibility for the development of the company’s fund services offering, working with all of the Alternative Asset product area divisions in which Sanne specialise. Murray has joined the firm from Orangefield in Luxembourg, where he was managing director and a member of the global alternative investments management board. He also sat on the board and management team of Vistra Luxembourg after Orangefield began a merger with Vistra Group in June 2016.
