Silverfleet Capital has appointed Karl Eidem as co-head of the Nordic region. Executive recruitment firm The McLean Partnership has hired Edward King as a partner to develop its private equity franchise. King joins from executives in Africa’s London office where he has forged strong links with private equity organisations looking to grow their business interests in the region.   He has worked extensively with portfolio companies across a wide range of sectors. Most recently, he has been responsible for C-suite hires in Ethiopia and West Africa in banking, insurance, pensions, real estate, FMCG and agri-business. HarbourVest Global Private Equity (HVPE) has appointed Francesca Barnes as a non-executive director of the company with effect from 3 April 2017. Barnes brings a wealth of private equity, banking and finance experience to the HVPE Board.   Most recently she was non-executive director of Electra Private Equity, a FTSE 250 investment trust specialising in private equity investments – a position she held from 2013 to 2016.   Prior to this, Barnes spent 16 years at UBS, serving as global head of private equity for the latter seven years following on from senior positions in restructuring and loan portfolio management.
Maranon Capital has appointed Kyle Smith and Brian Pearl as portfolio analysts. In this role, they will primarily be working with Maranon’s investment and loan operations teams on portfolio management activities.   Prior to joining Maranon, Smith was a commercial credit analyst at MB Financial Bank.   Pearl was previously at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was an assurance associate. 
German law firm Noerr is opening an office in Hamburg and admitting three partners from White & Case to the partnership, effective 1 April 2017. Clessidra SGR’s board of directors has appointed Federico Ghizzoni as executive deputy chairman and member of its investment committee. Ghizzoni joined Clessidra in September 2016 as an independent board member, following the change of ownership of Clessidra by Italmobiliare.   Clessidra’s shareholders also appointed Matteo Canonaco as independent board member of the firm. Westbridge portfolio company ISG Technology has appointed Jonathan McKay as non-executive chairman. McKay has a strong background in strategic development, sales, marketing and general management, gained in the technology sector.   He is currently chairman at JustGiving, the UK’s largest online fundraising platform; La Fosse Associates; Driftrock; Cambridge Broadband; and Forward Partners. Lydia A Gavalis, Hamilton Lane
Hamilton Lane has appointed Lydia A Gavalis as general counsel and Frederick W Shaw as chief compliance officer, effective as 1 April.
