Timico, a managed cloud service provider (MCSP), has appointed managed IT specialist Neville Davis to a new position as non-executive chairman.
An entrepreneurial business leader with over 20 years’ experience as a chief executive, including 12 years at a quoted company, Davis has a particularly strong track record in scaling and developing private-equity backed companies, having chaired and grown other tech businesses to in excess of GBP300 million turnover and 1,500 employees.
His appointment follows a GBP50 million investment in Timico by growth investors Lyceum Capital in February 2017 as part of Timico’s plans for growth and to finance
UK private equity buy and build investor Sovereign Capital has appointed Alex Hay as a partner.
He joins from RJD Partners where he had been a partner since 2011 working with businesses across a breadth of sectors.
Hay’s investments include the GBP23 million secondary buy-out of training provider Babington Group, the GBP15 million buy-out of Burgess Marine, the marine engineering services business, and the GBP40 million secondary buy-out of Harrington Brooks, the debt solutions business.
Prior to RJD Partners, Hay built his deal experience at Close Brothers Corporate Finance following his earlier accountancy career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Sovereign’s
Alternative asset advisory firm Campbell Lutyens has appointed Gordon Bajnai in a part time executive role as chairman of the firm’s global advisory board.
Bajnai will assist the firm in managing senior level relationships, providing advice to the firm’s clients and counterparties as well as supporting and advising on the development of the group.

Dallas-based alternative investment firm Highland Capital Management has appointed Damon Krytzer as managing director, supporting business development across the firm's institutional platform.
The addition of Krytzer (pictured)is part of Highland's ongoing commitment to reshape its institutional platform to meet the needs of investors in today's increasingly complex investment environment.
Highland is focusing on institutional product strategy that draws on the firm's core competencies in fundamental credit research. In addition, the firm is looking to develop other areas of its institutional business including private equity and real estate.

Waleed El-Amir has joined Evercore’s investment banking business as a senior adviser for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.
Evercore expects to open a new office in Dubai early in the second quarter of 2017.
El-Amir has over 20 years of experience in international finance, having held senior leadership positions in North America, Europe and the Middle East across corporate banking, investment banking and treasury and has been involved in helping raise over USD200 billion in the equity and debt capital markets for his clients.

Investment company Fortino Capital has appointed Filip Van Innis as investment manager.
Van Innis will focus both on sourcing and realising deals and on following up on and supporting the portfolio.
Van Innis worked for five years at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), from associate up to project leader. His focus there was primarily on corporate development, telecom and financial services.
During a secondment period of one year with BNP Paribas Fortis, Van Innis worked on innovative opportunities in retail banking.

Svensson has 17 years of experience in the private equity industry. Having started her career in 1998 in Sweden at Swedbank, she joined the Paris office of ABN Amro Capital in 2000 where she was involved in over 20 investments.
She subsequently joined XAnge Private Equity in 2004, following its acquisition of ABN Amro Capital’s activities, first as investment director and then as partner from 2012. In the context of her different positions, Svensson has acquired specific know-how in various sectors, including technology and healthcare.
Private equity firm IK Investment Partners has opened an office in Amsterdam.
Located at UNStudio, 13th floor, Gustav Mahlerlaan 350, 1082 ME Amsterdam, the office will be led by partner and head of Benelux, Remko Hilhorst who has been with IK since 2001.
In addition to the existing mid cap team, consisting of a total of six investment professionals, IK is extending its small cap strategy and establishing a Benelux-dedicated team.
Together, the two Amsterdam-based teams will focus on investments with enterprise values of up to EUR500 million, partnering with entrepreneurs who are looking for support to help
Livingbridge, the mid-market private equity firm, has appointed Adam Hughes as sales director of its public market equity funds business, which manages the Wood Street Microcap Investment Fund, to support further growth plans.
Hughes is the former head of UK wholesale distribution at Neptune Investment Management, where he worked for 10 years before becoming managing director at Fharlie Advisers, a venture established to acquire and consolidate independent financial advisory businesses.
He has more than 20 years of experience in financial services and has worked extensively across the UK intermediary space.
Livingbridge, which closed a new mid-market private equity
Voya Investment Management has hired Bob Alderman as head of business development for the Pomona Investment Fund (PIF) on behalf of Pomona Capital, a Voya affiliate.
Alderman is based in New York and reports to Troy Chakarun, senior vice president, head of private wealth and advisory.
