Ogier has named James Heinicke, an expert in fund financing and financial services regulation, as a partner in the firm’s Cayman Islands office.
Also strengthening the team are newly promoted corporate and funds specialists Jo Huckle and Piers Dryden, and commercial litigator Jennifer Colegate, a specialist in cross-border insolvency and restructuring, who has joined Ogier in Cayman.

Northern Trust has appointed Marco Siero (pictured) as senior sales representative, Luxembourg to spearhead the company’s growth in the region.
Assets under administration in Northern Trust’s Luxembourg office have increased by 100 per cent over the past five years. In this newly created role, Siero will be responsible for further accelerating the growth of the client base and expanding the delivery of Northern Trust’s specialist fund servicing capabilities to global investors who look to leverage the benefits of Luxembourg as a fund jurisdiction.

Giles Johnstone-Scott has been appointed director within Elian Funds Services.
Johnstone-Scott is responsible for the administration of a number of private equity funds and corporate structures and is part of the management team responsible for the ongoing operations of Elian's funds business. In his role as director, he is involved with client relationship management, business development, systems development and talent management. Mr Johnstone-Scott has more than 10 years’ experience in the offshore financial services industry, including private equity, venture capital and mezzanine funds areas.
Prior to joining Elian in 2008, he held roles at Kleinwort Benson and Mourant du Feu
The London office of global law firm K&L Gates has added Barry Cosgrave as a partner in the firm’s global finance practice. Cosgrave (pictured), who joins K&L Gates from Shearman & Sterling LLP, is the second new partner addition to the firm’s London finance practice in just a month.
Cosgrave’s experience includes distressed debt and restructuring, debt capital markets, structured finance, and Islamic finance. He has significant Middle East experience, having also practiced in Dubai for a number of years.

The board of Woodford Patient Capital Trust has appointed Carolan Dobson and Alan Hodson as non-executive directors, both with immediate effect.
Dobson has a background in fund management and is an experienced non-executive director in public and private sector organisations, including a diverse portfolio of investment trust roles. She spent her executive career at Murray Johnstone, where she managed Murray Income and was a main board director, and later joined Abbey National Asset Management as head of UK.
