The board of Woodford Patient Capital Trust has appointed Carolan Dobson and Alan Hodson as non-executive directors, both with immediate effect.
Dobson has a background in fund management and is an experienced non-executive director in public and private sector organisations, including a diverse portfolio of investment trust roles. She spent her executive career at Murray Johnstone, where she managed Murray Income and was a main board director, and later joined Abbey National Asset Management as head of UK.
In 2004, Dobson was appointed a non-executive director of Aberdeen Smaller Companies Income Trust, becoming chairman in 2011. In 2010, she
Salveo Capital has re-launched Salveo Fund I with the addition of managing directors Michael Gruber and Jeffrey Howard and director of fund operations Achint Prabhat to the existing team of partners Alex Thiersch and John Dohm and director of communications Eric Atienza.
Salveo is a venture capital fund with offices in Chicago, Illinois, that will invest in emerging growth companies within the cannabis sector. The addition of the new team members brings investment, fund management, capital markets and due diligence experience to complement the existing team.

Investment funds lawyer Christopher Knight (pictured) has joined Akin Gump as counsel in its investment management practice in the Hong Kong office.
He joins the firm from the Hong Kong office of DLA Piper.
Knight has extensive experience advising financial institutions, investment banks, asset managers, sponsors and investors on the establishment and regulation of hedge funds, regulated funds and private equity funds. He has also advised on Shari’ah compliant investment fund structures.

Assured Guaranty has appointed David A Buzen as senior managing director of its newly formed alternative investments group.
Buzen was previously president and chief executive officer of CIFG Holding.
Additionally, Stan Cotek, formerly treasurer and managing director of finance and IT systems at CIFG, has joined the alternative strategies group as managing director, and Robert M Forant, formerly chief operating officer of AIG Global Risk Solutions & Multinational, has joined as director.

In this role, Perry will be responsible for further shaping the firm’s offerings and enhancing its service delivery to institutional investors.
Perry brings more than 20 years of investment management experience, the past 10 serving in senior investment roles overseeing portfolios of public assets in California and Texas.
Previously he served as chief investment officer of the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System.
The Citco Group of Companies has launched Citco Capital Solutions, a capital advisory service that will focus on arranging debt and equity capital for sponsors and investors in alternative investment vehicles.
