Cyrus Investment Management (CIM), a specialist engineering turnaround EIS investment adviser, has appointed Clare Glackin, Head of Industrial Practice at Odgers Berndtson, to the firm’s Advisory Board.
Glackin heads the Industrial practice at Odgers Berndtson, where she undertakes executive searches for manufacturing and engineering businesses. Her particular focus is senior management in the global Aerospace, Defence, and Security sectors. Prior to commencing her career in executive search, she worked on major infrastructure projects as a Chartered Civil Engineer, before becoming a diplomat with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. BGF (Business Growth Fund) has appointed Will Copeland to the investment team in the Midlands. Copeland joins BGF from PwC where he worked as a manager in the transaction services team, providing due diligence to a variety of buyers, sellers and refinancers.
Based in BGF’s Birmingham office, Copeland joins a team of 10 investors covering the Midlands who, in addition to identifying investment opportunities, provide support to the companies they back.

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has appointed Mark Begor as a Managing Director in the Industrial and Business Services group.
In this role, Begor will work with the firm's portfolio companies to accelerate growth and enhance operations, as well as help to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
Begor joins Warburg Pincus from General Electric ("GE"), where he spent the past 35 years, most recently as a Senior Vice President as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of GE's USD8 billion Energy Management business. AT&T Inc has appointed Geoffrey Yang to its Board of Directors. Yang is a founding partner and managing director of venture capital firm Redpoint Ventures. He will serve on the company’s Corporate Development and Finance Committee.

Porter, who joins from another international law firm, has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate sector, advising private equity real estate (PERE) firms, sovereign funds, property companies and financial institutions on UK and European real estate funds, joint ventures, M&A, financings and highly structured transactions across Europe and the Middle East.

Curfman was most recently President of Caterpillar Global Mining and Senior Vice President of CAT Inc.(NYSE:CAT), the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.
Curfman's career with Caterpillar Global Mining and CAT Inc. spans over 21 years and includes leadership roles in the Asia-Pacific division and Australia. As President of Global Mining, he led the single largest business unit within the company for over ten years. Curfman had a 15-year career at Deere & Company, ultimately serving as President/General Manager of Equipment Remarketing Services.

Wilson who joined the firm in June 2013, is an experienced commercial lawyer having worked and qualified as a solicitor (England and Wales) at Slaughter and May in both London and Paris before practising offshore law in Jersey and the BVI. He is also a qualified BVI lawyer and his practice includes corporate and financial matters, with a focus on joint ventures, private equity and cross-border transactions.
