Vision Capital has promoted Daryl Cohen to partner and Jonathan Guest, Konstantin Oelfke and Emil Fajersson to associate at the firm. Cohen joined Vision Capital as an associate in 2008, and was made principal in 2010. He has been instrumental in deal origination and evaluation for the firm and was a key member of the project teams for the acquisitions of Nordax Finans and Bormioli Rocco. Michael Singer has joined Ramius as chief executive officer reporting to Peter Cohen. Singer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of Ramius. Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has appointed Lee Kranefuss as an executive-in-residence (EIR). Kranefuss (pictured) will work to help Warburg Pincus identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the areas of exchange-traded funds, index investing and asset management, particularly in Europe, Asia and Latin America.   Kranefuss was the architect and global chief executive officer of iShares, part of Barclays Global Investors (BGI), where he built the largest global ETF platform. Business Growth Fund (BGF), established to help the UK’s fast growing smaller and medium sized businesses, has appointed Edwin Davies as an investment associate, based in BGF’s Bristol office. Davies’ appointment brings the South West and South Wales regional team to six people and he will be responsible for identifying investable local businesses and working with them to achieve their growth plans. Northern Trust has expanded its alternatives business development team across the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg and Channel Islands with the appointment of Edwin Parker. Hastings Funds Management has appointed two new members to its European infrastructure team to strengthen the firm’s infrastructure equity, debt and business development capabilities. Heiko Schupp has joined Hastings as investment director to lead business development, institutional relationship building and fund-raising activities in the UK and Europe. Schupp will report to Peter Johnston, executive director, and work in conjunction with the London based investment team. Prior to Hastings, Schupp was principal, head of infrastructure Europe at Pantheon where he was responsible for infrastructure investment opportunities in Europe. In this role he led co-investment, secondary investment and primary fund-of-funds investment activities.
Eamonn McConnell and John H Walker have joined Kensington Capital Partners as managing directors. McConnell has lead responsibility for the Kensington Hedge Fund, while Walker leads Kensington’s infrastructure business. Together with current Kensington managing directors Tom Kennedy and Rick Nathan, McConnell and Walker serve on the Kensington Investment Committee responsible for all investment decisions of the Kensington Funds.
