TAG Associates, a New York City-based multi-client family office, has appointed Jonathan M. Bergman as a managing director, reporting to the chief executive officer David Basner.
Bergman’s primary responsibilities at TAG will be to serve as portfolio manager to client accounts and conduct investment manager diligence. He will also join the investment committee, which directs firm-wide investment strategy.
Bergman (pictured) comes to TAG from Palisades Hudson Financial Group, where he served as chief investment officer, overseeing strategy and management of client investment portfolios and chairing the investment committee.

Emergence Capital Partners, a venture capital firm focused on SaaS and technology-enabled services, has hired Sean Jacobsohn as venture partner.
Jacobsohn has a long track record at SaaS companies and is an experienced angel investor and adviser to start-up companies, including Emergence Capital portfolio company Doximity.
Jacobsohn is also co-founder and co-president of the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels, the largest university-affiliated angel group in the world.
Formerly the vice president of Worldwide Alliances at YouSendIt, an Emergence Capital portfolio company, Jacobsohn led global distribution partnerships for the freemium company.

Corsair Capital, a private equity firm focused exclusively on investing in the financial services industry, has added D. Ellen Shuman to its advisory board.
Shuman has specialised in endowment management for almost three decades, serving as vice president and chief investment officer at Carnegie Corporation of New York (1999-2011), and as director of investments at Yale University (1984-1998).

DFJ Gotham Ventures, an early-stage technology venture capital firm based in New York, has promoted Thatcher Bell to managing director.
Bell was previously a principal at the firm. He will join founding managing directors Ross Goldstein and Danny Schultz.

Blum Capital Partners, an investment firm active in investing in both privately structured investments as well as blocks of publicly traded securities, has hired Peter Westley and Carol Fu in its investment team as partner and associate, respectively.
Westley was previously a managing director at Salomon Smith Barney and a partner at ThinkEquity Partners. Most recently, he was a partner at North Point Advisors, an investment banking firm specialising in mergers and acquisitions.

Rutland Partners, a turnaround and restructuring investor, has appointed Michael Reynolds as investment executive.
Reynolds is a business and legal studies graduate from University College Dublin and a postgraduate (accounting) of the Michael Smurfit Business School, Dublin.
Reynolds qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG Corporate Finance in 2010 where he spent three and a half years. He then moved to Hawkpoint Partners later in 2010 to join its corporate advisory group where he worked on a number of debt restructuring deals as well as sell-side and buy-side transactions.

Waller Capital Partners, a New York-based investment bank and advisory firm focused on the telecommunications, media and technology sectors, has appointed William L. Bradley as a managing director.
Bradley will lead Waller’s efforts with data centre, managed hosting and cloud computing clients, and will also support the firm’s telecom infrastructure practice.
Bradley joins Waller Capital from Credit Suisse where, as head of telecommunications M&A in the US, he focused on data centre and hosting operators, fixed line companies for enterprises and consumers and wireless operators and was instrumental in building a telecommunications M&A business.

Inflexion Private Equity has promoted Richard Swann from investment director to partner.
Swann joined the investment team in 2008 and has led Inflexion’s investments in Rhead Group, Phlexglobal, National Accident Helpline and FDM Group. He holds seats on all their boards.

Blackstone has appointed Joe Baratta as head of global private equity.
Baratta (pictured) currently heads the private equity team in Europe and is a member of the firm’s executive committee. He will also join the firm’s management committee.
Baratta will be based in New York from September.
