SGT Capital has acquires Utimaco, a growing global market specialist in cyber security solutions, co-headquartered in Aachen and Campbell, California, with more than 470 employees and expected three-digit million revenues.  The acquisition is subject to different regulatory approvals. Its closing is expected for Q4 2021. The seller is EQT Private Equity, who will continue to participate in the value performance as a minority owner. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value. Debt will be provided by Bain Capital Credit. HIG Growth Partners (HIG) has sold its portfolio company, Telescope Inc, a provider of real-time fan engagement solutions for live events, gamified second screen experiences and interactive livestreams, to Bally’s Corporation. Telescope’s first-in-class products and services will amplify the Bally’s Interactive, Bally Bet and Bally Sports brands, enabling viewers and players to have an integrated experience that allows them to engage on a multitude of platforms and channels, including online and offline. Edison Partners is to exit portfolio company Bento for Business, which has been acquired by US Bank (NYSE: USB). Upon closing, the transaction will deliver a strong cash return and 60 per cent IRR. Chicago-based Bento for Business helps small and mid-sized businesses regain control of monthly expenses and improve cash flow with its card-based digital spend management platform. Since the company’s inception, small businesses have spent close to USD800 million using the Bento for Business platform. Bento has enjoyed consistent, capital-efficient growth since Edison Partners’ investment and operating performance was the strongest to date over the last 12 months.

SnapDragon Monitoring, an online brand protection business, has raised GBP1.2 million in its latest funding round – bringing the total raised to just over GBP3 million – from ACF Investors, Mercia, and Scottish Enterprise, to help brand owners identify and remove fakes, copycats and online threats, using intellectual property to do so. The funding will be used to develop the technology and AI/ML to further extend capabilities, to scale the infrastructure, and to continue to build the team to help an expanding base of global clients fight fakes and online threats.  The funding is also a positive for female-led technology
