MixMode, a provider of self-learning solutions to detect cyberattacks in real time, has raised USD45 million in a Series B funding round led by PSG, a growth equity firm that partners with middle-market software and technology-enabled services companies to help accelerate their growth. Existing investor Entrada Ventures also participated in the round. MixMode delivers a self-learning platform that helps enterprises and agencies detect and protect their networks against the most advanced cyberattacks.
Bower, an app that directly rewards users with money or coupons when they recycle everyday waste items, has raised EUR4.1 million (USD4.7 million) in a Late Seed round. The round was led by blq Invest, a new investor in the company, together with existing investors, Almi Invest GreenTech, Verdane Foundation, Orkla Ventures and other major investors participating.  Bower has raised EUR5 million (USD5.7 million) in investment to-date.
Blue Horizon, a pure play impact investor in the future of food, has invested in Syocin Biotech, a synthetic biology startup focusing on improving food availability and protecting crop production in balance with Nature. Blue Horizon today announced a Seed portfolio investment in Syocin, a cutting-edge biotechnology company developing high-precision, non-toxic, fully bio-degradable protein-based solutions to protect food crops from bacterial diseases. Blue Horizon co-invested in Syocin with the LATAM biotech fund GRIDX and the European GISEV Family Office, anticipating Syocin’s Seed round that will be opened in the coming months. Fair Harbor, a sustainable lifestyle brand, has secured an investment from Broad Sky Partners, a private equity firm that partners with leading middle market business services and consumer companies. Terms of the transaction, which marks Fair Harbor’s first institutional capital, have not been disclosed.   Fair Harbor plans to use the investment from Broad Sky Partners to fuel its expansion into new product lines, retail channels and sustainability initiatives. 
AE Industrial Partners (AEI), a US-based private equity firm specialising in aerospace, defence & government services, space, power and utility services, and specialty industrial markets, has rebranded its fire and life safety services platform to Altus Fire and Life Safety (Altus). Concurrently, Altus announced that John K Adams has joined the Company as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.   Previously known as Cross-Fire & Security Co, Altus is a full-service life safety company specialising in the design, engineering, installation, maintenance, monitoring and servicing of state-of-the-art fire and life safety services and systems.  Adams, a senior executive with deep experience driving
Facteus has raised USD10m in a funding round led by Curql Fund, the investment arm for over 75 credit unions across the US. Facteus has gained rapid growth and momentum among financial institutions, investors, and corporations by becoming the largest provider of anonymised and synthesised consumer transaction data in the Alternative Data industry. LifeMine Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company reinventing drug discovery by mining genetically-encoded small molecules (GEMs) from the biosphere, has completed a USD175 million Series C financing. The financing was led by new investor Fidelity Management & Research Company, with participation by additional new investors Invus and 3W Partners Capital; GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) also joined the round as a strategic partner.  Existing investors, including GV, Arch Venture Partners, Blue Pool Capital and MRL Ventures Fund, also participated. Proceeds from the financing will be used to advance LifeMine’s proprietary, evolutionarily-derived genomic drug discovery platform, Avatar-Rx.
Climate X, a London-based climate risk analytics provider, has raised GBP4.1 million in seed funding. CommerzVentures and A/O PropTech led the round – joined by Voyagers Climate Tech Fund, Blue Impact Ventures, Deloitte LLP and angel investors including David Rowan (founding Editor-in-Chief at WIRED), Kat Borlongan (former Director at La French Tech) and Renaud Visage (co-founder and former CTO at Eventbrite).  
European lingerie brand Hunkemöller is to be acquired by Parcom, a Dutch investment company, and Opportunity Partners, the investment company of Dutch entrepreneur Robert van der Wallen. Global investment firm Carlyle, an existing shareholder, will reinvest for a minority stake.  The new investors have an established track record in developing retail and e-commerce consumer goods brands and are ideally suited to support Hunkemöller’s strategic ambitions.  The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Skyports, an electric air taxi infrastructure and drone services provider, has raised USD23 million in the first close of its Series B funding round. The capital, from a combination of new and existing investors, will enable Skyports to consolidate its position as a global leader in the advanced air mobility infrastructure and drone operations markets. All existing institutional shareholders participated in the round including Deutsche Bahn Digital Ventures, Groupe ADP, Solar Ventus, Irelandia and Levitate Capital with a number materially increasing their stake.
