Verica, the continuous verification company using chaos engineering to make systems more reliable and less vulnerable to costly incidents, has raised USD12 million in Series A funding round led by Intel Capital.
True Ventures and Mango Capital also participated in the round which brings Verica’s total venture-backed funding to date to to USD17 million.
This new capital will allow Verica to expand upon its product roadmap, continue building out the enterprise-class features customers expect, grow its headcount, scale its go-to-market activities and ultimately allow the company to onboard future customers at a faster pace.
Amplify Life Insurance, a digital life insurance platform focused on helping customers build wealth through permanent life insurance, has raised USD12 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Greycroft and Crosslink Capital.
Other investors who participated include Conversion Capital, Anthemis, and Transverse Asset Management.

Stellex Capital Management (Stellex), a middle-market private equity firm, has made a new platform investment in plumbing services platform Peltram Plumbing Holdings (P3).
Stellex acquired P3 in partnership with the existing management team from an investor group led by Crescendo Capital Partners (Crescendo). The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
In addition to partnering with the existing local management teams, Stellex has recruited Terry Young, former Senior Vice President of Comfort Systems USA, and Chad Lusco, former Senior Vice President of KBS and Empire Services, to drive P3’s next chapter of growth.
Rotunda Capital Partners (Rotunda), an operationally focused, lower middle-market private equity investment firm, has sold MacQueen Equipment (MacQueen), a distributor of environmental and emergency equipment solutions.

Electra.aero (Electra), a developer of hybrid-electric ultra-short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) aircraft, has secured a Series A investment from Lockheed Martin Ventures (LMV), the venture capital arm of Lockheed Martin Corporation.
The funding will support Electra’s plans to begin flight testing a full-scale hybrid eSTOL technology demonstrator aircraft later this year.

Private equity firm Liberty Strategic Capital is to invest USD150 million in Satellogic in connection with its merger with CF Acquisition Corp V (CFV), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) sponsored by Cantor Fitzgerald, which will see Satellogic become a publicly traded company.
Satellogic specialises in high-resolution imagery of the Earth’s surface obtained through a constellation of low earth orbit satellites.
CFV was formed as a “blank check” company in January 2020 and completed an IPO in February 2021 at a price of USD10 per unit. In July 2021, CFV and Satellogic announced plans to merge at an implied enterprise
Houlihan Lokey has appointed Chris Hastings as a Managing Director in the firm’s Capital Markets Group.
Hastings will join Sean Fitzgerald in New York to provide equity solutions, including growth capital, structured equity, and PIPEs, to the firm’s corporate and financial-sponsor-backed clients. In addition, Brent Surber, an existing Director in the Capital Markets Group with substantial equity placement experience, will join the expanded equity team.

Mingay brings three decades of extensive commercial and regulatory experience from across the private and public infrastructure sectors. She currently holds advisory roles with Ofgem and CAA, the respective UK energy and airport economic regulators and is an Independent Non-Executive Director for Wessex Water and a Trustee of the British Science Association.
Mingay has a strong corporate finance background, having worked in executive director roles for UBS and Goldman Sachs earlier in her career, leading the UK financing teams.
