Invest Europe, an association representing Europe’s private equity, venture capital and infrastructure sectors, as well as their investors, has published its ‘Private Equity at Work’ report which shows an that the PE sector is supporting over 10 million workers across the continent and creating over a quarter of a million jobs in sectors that will help feed the recovery from the Covid-19 crisis.

Financial services provider iBanFirst, which delivers solutions across banking borders, has secured a growth equity investment to fund product development, international expansion and M&A, from global private equity firm Marlin, which became the fintech’s largest shareholder as a result, replacing existing business angels and some of the company’s early backers.
Through the transaction, a number of iBanFirst’s historic partners, including top-tier venture capital firm Elaia, Bpifrance Large Venture and Xavier Niel, have strengthened their existing commitments. iBanFirst CEO and Founder, Pierre-Antoine Dusoulier, will become the company’s second-largest shareholder as part of the new agreement.

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Olle Lundqvist as a Managing Director, to head A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) Group covering the Nordic region.
Lundqvist comes to A&M from Platinum Equity (Platinum), where he most recently served as a Senior Vice President M&A Operations in London. He headed Platinum’s M&A Operations work for their main fund (USD6.5 billion) in Europe. Lundqvist brings more than 20 years of experience leading performance improvement and operational restructuring of companies. Concentrating primarily on operational due diligence, post-acquisition value creation, carve-outs, post-merger integration, and restructuring.

The Riverside Company, a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has signed a definitive agreement to sell Greenphire, a specialist in financial lifecycle management software for clinical trials, to Thoma Bravo, a software focused private equity firm.
The pending transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of this year, subject to the satisfaction of regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Financial details were not disclosed.
