Sheridan Capital Partners (Sheridan) has med an investment in Tarrytown Expocare (Tarrytown), a closed-door long-term care pharmacy focused exclusively on individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Sheridan invested alongside Tarrytown’s founder and management team, who have retained a meaningful ownership stake in the business.
Tarrytown, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Austin, TX, is a national leader and innovator in the IDD pharmacy segment. The Company has longstanding relationships with IDD group home providers and delivers services to over 1,900 group homes. The partnership will allow the Company to continue building a robust infrastructure and accelerate national expansion.
BGF has now invested GBP411 million into 50 businesses in the Midlands, with GBP57 million of that total invested in the past 12 months in new investments and follow-on funding for existing portfolio companies based across the region.With offices across Birmingham, Nottingham and Milton Keynes, BGF made several investments in the UK’s growing life sciences sector in 2019, including Nottingham-based business incubator BioCity and Cambridge-based life sciences business Fluidic Analytics.
BGF also provided follow-on investment to nine existing portfolio businesses, including corporate travel management company Click Travel, which appeared in this year’s Sunday Times Top Track and Profit Track rankings,
Since starting her career in 2006 at ABN AMRO, Sweta Chattopadhyay has seen, first-hand, how investors have changed their allocation preferences to private equity. Having worked at a number of prominent UK pension schemes as an in-house advisor, where she developed a broad network of PE manager relationships, Chattopadhyay currently works as Director within the Private Markets team at Bfinance, a London-based independent consultant to global institutional investors, where she is head of Private Equity advisory. Mid-market private equity investor LDC has strengthened its South West & Wales team with the appointment of Oliver Schofield as an Investment Director.
Schofield joins LDC from Goldman Sachs, where he was part of the Leveraged Finance team, supporting clients across the TMT and Industrials sectors. Prior to this, Schofield worked at RBC Capital Markets, and he has wide-ranging experience in financing private equity buyouts and corporate transactions across Europe.
In his new role, Schofield will be responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities, leading transactions and supporting the management teams of LDC’s portfolio businesses as they pursue their growth ambitions.
This provides Skylight IPV additional stability for the next few years and the opportunity to continue to work with clients and further develop its technology to build an ever-improved service.
Private equity investor Berkshire Partners has appointed Matt Gooch, Saad Hasan and Ben Levy as Managing Directors effective 1 January, 2020. They join the 22 current Managing Directors in managing the firm and its affiliated investment funds. The firm’s 25 Managing Directors have an average tenure of 16 years with the firm.
Gooch joined Berkshire Partners in 2019 as Director of Business Development after more than 20 years with investment bank William Blair & Company, where he was most recently a Managing Director and head of European banking. Ara Partners Group (Ara Partners), a Houston-based private equity firm specialising in industrial decarbonisation investments, has expanded its senior management team with the promotion of Johanna Schmidtke to Managing Director. Schmidtke joined Ara Partners in 2018 as a Principal.

US Public Realtions firm Gregory FCA has secured a minority growth capital investment from Copley Equity Partners, a Boston-based private investment firm. Founder Gregory Matusky and President Joseph Anthony remain majority owners and will continue to lead the firm. All account management and professional staff remain in place and the firm will continue to operate from its suburban headquarters along Philadelphia’s Main Line.

New investments included Manchester-headquartered FinTech company Planixs, international schools group Orbital Education and Joloda International, a fast-growing manufacturing firm based in Merseyside. This investment took BGF past its GBP2 billion investment milestone and scooped Deal of the Year (sub GBP10 million) at the 2019 Insider North West Dealmakers Awards.
