Augnet, a London-based technology start-up looking focused on he SMS and messaging space, has secured GBP1.3 million in an investment round led by riple Point Venture.
Triple Point has invested in Augnet alongside a number of industry experts and investors and the funds will be used by to further develop the platform, support the testing stage and invest in its sales and marketing channels.

Activa Capital has sold Atlas for Men, a European specialist in multi-channel sales of outdoor clothing for men, created in 1999, to Latour Capital.
Latour Capital is now the new majority shareholder of Atlas for Men, alongside company president Marc Delamarre and his management team.
The exit of Activa Capital, Initiative et Finance and Indigo Capital, comes less than three years after they bought the company in a spin-off from the De Agostini group, alongside Delamarre and his team.

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are also growing, but it’s important to look at the full picture. As of 31 March, 2019, the Investment Company Institute (ICI) reports that there are more than USD19 trillion in assets in open end mutual funds, compared to USD3.77 trillion in ETFs, with AUM growing for both categories.

Small cap LBO funds are more profitable than funds that focus on target companies of larger market capitalisation, according to new research from eFront. In addition, small cap funds deploy capital at a faster rate and reinvest a significantly higher proportion of fund sizes than other funds.
They also continue to invest significantly until year eight of the fund cycle, against a normal investment period of five years, and distribute capital much earlier than medium, large and mega cap LBO funds.

Independent fund and corporate services provider, the Aztec Group, and offshore law firm, Carey Olsen (Guernsey) (Carey Olsen), have supported Inflexion Private Equity Partners (Inflexion) with a GBP1 billion double fundraise.
Domiciled and administered in Guernsey, the two private equity funds, Inflexion Enterprise Fund V and Inflexion Supplemental Fund V, have secured commitments at their hard cap of GBP400 million and GBP600 million respectively.

Foresight Group (Foresight) has launched the FP Foresight Global Real Infrastructure Fund (GRIF), which has now received FCA regulatory approval. The actively managed fund will invest directly into publicly listed companies that own and operate real infrastructure or renewable energy assets globally.
The fund is targeting a total return of more than 3 per cent per annum above the rate of UK inflation (measured by UK CPI).

Lyreco Group has acquired DeskRight, an office supplies business focused on the Singapore market.
Lyreco says the acquisition will boost business at its Singaporean subsidiary, opened in 2006, as it benefits from DeskRight’s relations with local businesses and government agencies. This B2B client base will in turn benefit from Lyreco’s international scope, logistics expertise and global purchasing power.
The two companies will work together to capitalise on their complementary strengths and increase market share by improving client experience.
