New York-based private equity firm Aquiline Capital Partners is to become the majority investor in Wellington Insurance Group, a Texas-based risk distribution business specialising in the delivery and administration of residential property insurance.
Principal operating subsidiaries include Wellington Risk Insurance Agency, a managing general agency, Wellington Claim Service, and Wellington Premium Finance, (collectively, Wellington).

Chinese technology and investment group Cocoon Networks is launching a GBP500 million (USD720 million) London-based venture capital fund aimed at investing in UK and European tech startups.
Cocoon Networks, which has the backing of China Equity Group, one of the first investors in to Baidu, China's answer to Google, and Hanxin Capital, which specialises in cloud computing and bio tech investments, will look to invest in tech companies whose products and services show promise and potential for growth in the Chinese market.

Noerr has advised the group Veolia on the purchase of Nuon Energie und Service. A team from Noerr’s Energy Group led by the Berlin partners Dr Tibor Fedke and Dr Christoph Spiering, and the Düsseldorf real estate specialist Christoph Brenzinger acted for Veolia.
Nuon Energie und Service, which has to date been held by Vattenfall, operates the Niederau Industry Park in Düren and is the owner and operator of Bizzpark Oberbruch, an industry park in Heinsberg near Cologne. Ipes is providing administration services to Gilde Buyout Partners, a leading European Private Equity firm, to support the closing and ongoing administration of Gilde Buy-Out Fund V.
The fund closed at the hard cap of EUR1.1 billion in November 2015. Ipes performs all outsourced administration services to the fund including one General Partner and two feeder funds administered from offices in Luxembourg and Guernsey.

Clearwater International as advised the shareholders of building product and servicing firm Gledhill on its sale to Groupe Atlantic, a specialist in heating, ventilation and air conditioning with a tunrover in excess of EUR1 billion.
With a nationwide customer base supplied by a network of manufacturing/distribution depots, Blackpool based Gledhill is the largest privately owned hot water cylinder manufacturer in the UK and has been in business since the Second World War. The business operates under a number of trading names including Gledhill Building Products, Gledhill Response and Gledhill Spare Parts.

Pan-European mid-market investor Aurelius Group has added to its UK team with the appointment of Daniel Simon as Associate.
Simon will be based in the Group’s London office, working as part of the deal team to source and execute investments in companies that would benefit from the long-term strategic direction and financial and operational support that Aurelius provides. He begins his role at Aurelius with immediate effect.
Simon joins Aurelius from PwC, where he worked as a Manager on the financial restructuring team in the firm’s Business Recovery Services practice. He has over six years’ experience in financial restructuring,
LBO France has appointed Louis-Roch Burgard and Sophie Chateau as Partners.
Burgard also becomes a Member of the Executive Board and Chateau becomes Head of Investor Relations.
Burgard joined LBO France in 2015, within the private equity Mid-Cap team White Knight.
As part of the Executive Board of LBO France, which is from now on composed of six members, Burgard joins Robert Daussun, CEO, Marie-Astrid Auriol, Stéphanie Casciola, Jacques Franchi and Gilles Taldu.
Chateau, who manages a six-strong team, has previous experience in fund-raising processes for both private equity and real estate activities.

Law firm Bryan Cave has made two new appointments in its London office. Corporate Partner Sarah Atkinson joins the Transactions Client Service Group from Hogan Lovells, while Associate Yannis Erifillidis joins the Financial Services Client Service Group from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Atkinson’s experience concentrates on cross-border M&A, private equity and general corporate advisory work. She has been recognised by The Legal 500 UK for her M&A work, specifically relating to upper mid-market and premium deals, and is well known in her key industry sectors – retail (fashion and luxury brands), hospitality and energy.

Three Hills Capital Partners has closed a GBP15m investment in Tomorrow London Ltd, a sales platform for both established and emerging brands in the fashion industry.
The investment will be made via a preferred equity instrument, in order to enable the management, who currently own 50 per cent, to buy out the remaining shareholders.
