Matt Holt is set to leave New Mountain Capital and is in talks to acquire five of the firm’s portfolio companies in a transaction valued at more than $30bn, according to a report by Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter. Holt is expected to launch a new healthcare technology platform, Thoreau, backed by ICG Strategic Equity.
Cinven Co-Managing Partner Supraj Rajagopalan and CFO and COO Alex Leslie will step down from their roles and leave the firm, according to a report by Reuters. The private equity firm said former CFO Mike Colato, who currently serves as a senior adviser, will assume the role of interim CFO and COO.
Main Capital Partners has appointed Jorn de Ruijter and Daan Visscher as partners. These appointments strengthen the firm’s leadership team and support Main’s continued international growth and ongoing professionalisation.
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Andrew Howson as its new UK Head of Private Equity. Howson joined BDO as a transaction services partner in 2017, prior to which he held senior roles at EY and Deloitte.
California Pizza Kitchen has agreed to be acquired by an investor group led by Consortium Brand Partners, five years after the US restaurant chain emerged from a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to a report by Reuters.
Carlyle has appointed Bill Ryan as managing director and head of retirement solutions, as the firm looks to expand its presence in retirement markets, according to a report by Bloomberg. Ryan will join in early January and report to Amal Alibair, Carlyle’s head of North America client business.
Investindustrial has appointed Alberto Bettoli as co-head of operational improvement. Bettoli will formally join the firm in April 2026 following a 26-year career at McKinsey & Company, where he most recently served as senior partner, leading client service teams and advising executives across industries and functions including strategy, M&A, commercial excellence, operations, and organisation.
Benson Li has left Sackville Capital, the wealth firm founded by former Goldman Sachs executive Nasir Alsharif, around two years after joining as head of investments, according to a report by Bloomberg citing UK filings. The firm oversees assets for a billionaire Saudi family and has been repositioning its strategy towards private markets.
Portage Point Partners, a blue chip advisory, consulting, interim management, investment banking and financial services firm focused on the middle market, has appointed Lance Carr as managing director and head of valuations. He brings nearly two decades of experience in valuations, mergers and acquisitions advisory, financial reporting, and tax compliance across industries including business services, healthcare services, healthcare information technology, pharmaceuticals, and consumer.
CVC has created a new President role, appointing Peter Rutland, as the firm accelerates succession planning ahead of its next fundraising, according to a report by the Financial Times citing people familiar with the matter. Rutland currently leads financial services buyouts at the firm.
