General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, has appointed Samir Assaf as a Senior Advisor.
He will also serve as a member of the Advisory Board for BeyondNetZero, General Atlantic’s new climate venture. Based in London, Samir brings with him more than three decades of financial services experience and will advise on a range of areas, including sourcing, developing relationships with entrepreneurs around the world and portfolio company support.

The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) has appointed Craig Swan and Donald Scott as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board of Directors (Board), respectively.
Scott has held the position of Deputy Chair of the Authority’s Board since 2019. During this time, he has served on several Board committees, including the Corporate Governance and Ethics Committee, Human Capital Committee, Legislative and Policy Committee and Non-Executive Directors Committee. EQT has announced two new senior hires – Tetsuro Onitsuka who joins as Head of EQT Private Equity Japan, and Masahiko Kato who joins as Head of EQT Infrastructure Japan.
Onitsuka and Kato will continue to build the Tokyo-based team with both local and relocated EQT employees while exploring thematic investment opportunities in Japan. In addition, Tetsuro and Masahiko will lead the process of strengthening EQT’s bench of experienced Japanese advisors to the EQT Network.

Private equity executive search company Raw Selection has promoted Jack Burns to Senior Associate.
Burns joined Raw Selection out of university at the start of 2020, and has been responsible for placing C-Suite executives across Europe and North America, specialising in working with PE-backed Aerospace, Defence and manufacturing companies.
His promotion was announced by Alex Rawlings, Founder & Managing Partner of the firm.
UK law firm Shoosmiths has added highly experienced funds lawyer Barry Stimpson into its corporate team.
Stimpson’s experience as a funds specialist with City and international law firms extends to more than 30 years in advising clients on establishing real estate, venture capital and private equity funds and other investment structures, as well as on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and other corporate work.
His work includes advising fund managers, investors and professional services firms on limited liability partnerships and partnership agreements and mergers.

European law firm Fieldfisher has appointed Thomas Colmer as a partner in its corporate team in London.
Thomas joins Fieldfisher from PwC’s multi-disciplinary practice, where he has worked for more than five years leading the UK Legal Deals and Private Business team.
Thomas trained and worked at Norton Rose before becoming Head of M&A and General Counsel at global FinTech group ION Trading. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal LLP as a partner, he also practiced at Osborne Clarke.

Mehta joins G2 as an Investor, having previously been an early operator at Zoox – a 1,000-plus person start-up developing fully autonomous, all-electric vehicles for urban ride-sharing. During his five-year tenure, Neel led Strategy, Go-To-Market, Corporate Development, and FP&A teams, supported industry-record capital raises, and, most recently, served on the core deal team in Zoox’s acquisition by Amazon. Prior to Zoox, Mehta was at Morgan Stanley, where he covered automotive stocks with top Wall Street Autos Analyst, Adam Jonas.

Werner will play a central role in working with the client services teams on deliverables and will also help to continue evolving the firm’s operating model through the use of technology. Bregal Investments (Bregal) has appointed Alain Carrier as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with effect from 1 January 2022.
Carrier will succeed Co-CEOs Steve Black and Quentin Van Doosselaere, who are stepping down at the end of the year after a long-planned retirement. Alain will join Bregal in mid-November to ensure a period of transition.
Carrier joins Bregal from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), where he has been Senior Managing Director & Head of International since 2016, responsible for the company’s international markets and offices including in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
