&vest, an investment platform founded in 2019 focused on SPACs and private investments, has appointed Bill Hinman as a Partner. Hinman served as Director of Corporation Finance at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 2017 to 2020, where he was primarily responsible for overseeing regulations and processes for initial public offerings and other corporate disclosures. During his tenure at the SEC, Mr. Hinman spearheaded nearly 50 policy and rule-making initiatives designed to strengthen public markets as well as modernise and improve the framework for companies accessing capital markets, including addressing the large increase in SPAC offerings. Appian Capital Advisory (Appian), an investment advisor to long-term value focused private equity funds that invest solely in mining and mining related companies, has appointed Monica Pinto as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with immediate effect. As CFO, Pinto will work closely with the Executive Team in managing the financial operations of the Company at a group corporate and portfolio level. Granger brings to GoldenTree nearly 25 years of restructuring and turnaround experience. Tom Hunt, Preqin
Preqin, a specialist in alternative assets data, tools and insights, has appointed Tom Hunt as its new Chief Technology Officer.  In addition to scaling up Preqin’s technology efforts, Hunt will focus on further developing the company’s solutions and data services to continue to provide the alternatives industry with market-leading data and insights. Hunt was formerly a technology leader at Kantar and GlobalWebIndex, both market research and data analytics companies. He brings a breadth of experience leading engineering and development teams and leveraging data science to collect and manage large and complex datasets. Hunt joins Preqin at a time when the
Frostrow Capital (Frostrow) has appointed Richard Plaskett in the newly created role of Head of Investment Companies.  This appointment reflects the growth in Frostrow’s business and on-going demand for the firm’s services in the investment companies’ sector. BGF – the UK & Ireland’s most active investor – has promoted Andy Gregory, current Head of Investments, UK & Ireland, to Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Gregory has been with BGF since 2011, joining as regional director for the North of England.
