Helen Draijer is to join Avedon Capital Partners, a lower mid-market private equity firm, as CFO.
Drijer will join the management team and be responsible as a CFO for all financial and fiscal aspects of Avedon and its investment funds under management.
Prior to joining Avedon, Draijer worked for Lagardére Travel Retail NL, where she was CFO. Previously, she spent five years as Head of Risk, Legal, Tax and Treasury at Hema, a retail chain of convenience goods. She has also worked in similar positions at O’Neill, eBay, Tommy Hilfiger.

Bishop has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on legal services, governance and fund administration. Prior to joining the Maples Group, Bishop has worked in investment banking as an analyst in debt capital markets transaction management as well as a member of the finance practice at Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm.

Kirsten Lapham is to join international law firm Proskauer as a partner in its Global Private Funds Practice in London.

Activa Capital, a French private equity firm, has appointed Camille Emin as Associate.
Emin will reinforce the investment team and bring her expertise in the analysis of new investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Activa Capital, Camille worked at BNP Paribas as an M&A Analyst for two years, after previous work experience at Transaction R and KBC Bank & Verzekering.
Emin, 26, is a graduate of Audencia Nantes Business School and Ecole Centrale Paris.

Newcastle upon Tyne-based private investment firm Middleton Enterprises has appointed David Alprovich as Chief Operating Officer.
Alprovich, who graduated from Northumbria University with a First in Finance & Investment Management, joined Middleton Enterprises from Brewin Dolphin as commercial assistant. He rose through the ranks to his new role as the business expanded.
Middleton Enterprises is a GBP100million investment firm which makes investments throughout the UK, with a focus on the North East from its office on the Quayside in Newcastle. Its portfolio comprises of listed companies, private equity and venture capital investments including One Utility Bill, Refract and Atom Bank.
Willkie Farr & Gallagher has appointed debt finance partner Ashley Young in London. Young will join Willkie’s Finance Practice Group on 25 November, 2019 and will be the firm’s fourth lateral hire in London this year. He was previously a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
Young has approximately 20 years of experience advising clients on complex cross-border debt finance and special situation transactions. Global law firm Ropes & Gray announced today that 16 attorneys have been named partners of the firm, and that eight attorneys have been named counsel, all effective 1 November. Of these, Elizabeth Todd has been named as a partner in the firm’s private equity transactions practice in London.
With these partner promotions – nine women and seven men – 30 per cent of Ropes & Gray’s partners are now women. The largest geographic concentration of new partners is in New York, where the firm has more than 400 lawyers.
