King & Spalding has appointed Bradley T Giordano as a partner in the Chicago office.
Giordano will bolster the firm’s Financial Restructuring practice and will serve a key role in expanding the firm’s recently opened Chicago office.
Giordano represents debtors, creditors, equity sponsors and strategic investors in all aspects of in-court and out-of-court restructurings. In addition to company-side representations, he advises credit and private equity fund clients on strategic acquisitions or dispositions of distressed assets. He joins from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a partner.

Benedict O Kwon (pictured), has joined the Orange County office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice group, focusing on fund formation and taxation. Kwon joins Sheppard Mullin from Stradling.

Experienced offshore investment funds lawyer Sophie Reguengo has joined Ogier’s Jersey funds team.
Reguengo has almost 15 years’ experience as an offshore funds specialist working in both Jersey and Hong Kong – her practice focuses on private equity and real estate structures.
Reguengo’s arrival in the Jersey funds team further boosts Ogier’s global funds offering, following the arrival of partner Emily Haithwaite to the Jersey team last year and the recent recruitment of investment funds-focused Counsel Emma Sutherland (Cayman), James Bermingham (Luxembourg), and managing associate Oliver Quarmby (Guernsey).

Law firm Paul Hastings has appointed Eiji Kobayashi, a corporate M&A and compliance/investigations lawyer, as a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice in Tokyo, Japan.

Painter joined the firm in February 2016 as Investment Executive from KPMG’s corporate finance team.
