Cayman, New York and London-based alternative fund governance specialist, Danesmead Partners, has expanded its Cayman Islands office with the appointment of experienced independent director Brad Cowdroy as a principal of the firm.
Cowdroy (pictured), has almost 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having worked extensively with hedge funds, funds of funds and private equity funds across different alternative investment strategies and a range of fund structures. He has specific expertise within fund administration, accounting, valuation, investor communications and regulatory risk management.

Pantheon has announced a host of promotions across the business including the appointment of Alex Wilmerding as a Partner.
Wilmerding, who is based in Hong Kong and is a member of the Asia investment team with responsibility for client relationships in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding South Korea, joined Pantheon nine years ago.

Mid-market private equity investor Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) has appointed Edward Baker as an Investment Manager in its London office, with immediate effect.
Baker joins Equistone from lower-mid-market private equity firm MML Capital Partners, where he worked in its London office for four years. During his time at the firm, Baker was responsible for originating and executing both controlling and non-controlling investments into private UK businesses across a diverse range of sectors, as well as for portfolio management. Prior to this, Baker spent six years at KPMG, latterly as a Manager in the company’s Transaction Services division, where he was
Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has appointed Chris Griffin as a partner in the firm’s Jersey office.
Griffin, who joined Carey Olsen as a senior associate in 2011 before being promoted to counsel in 2016, is a member of the Jersey corporate team and advises on all aspects of corporate transactions, including the legal and regulatory aspects of fund launches and other bespoke investment structures.
He has played a key role in developing the firm’s digital assets practice and, most recently, led the team advising ARC Fiduciary Limited on its Initial Coin Offering (ICO), working closely with the Jersey
Winston & Strawn LLP has strengthened its presence in the Middle East with the recent expansion of the firm’s office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
The larger footprint is a result of Winston’s focused growth in the region, having grown over fourfold in attorney and staff headcount since the office opening in April 2016.

MidOcean Partners (MidOcean) has added David Kieselstein to the firm’s Executive Board, effective 1 January 2018.
Kieselstein is serving as Vice Chairman, Business Services, and will work with the firm’s Executive Board to provide strategic guidance to MidOcean’s portfolio companies. As Vice Chairman, Business Services, Kieselstein will also work closely with the MidOcean investment team in the sourcing, evaluation and execution of new business services investments.
Kieselstein, who is recognised for his operational expertise in information services, most recently served as CEO of former MidOcean portfolio company Penton prior to its acquisition by Informa PLC in November 2016 for

Penny joins CRUX from Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) where he was a senior fund manager within the High Alpha team and was lead manager of the L&G Alpha Trust and the L&G UK Special Situations Trust. Prior to this Richard worked for M&G and Scottish Amicable.

Noerr has appointed five new equity partners as of 1 January 2018, including four women.
Meike von Levetzow, Annette Pospich, Marlies Raschke, Bärbel Sachs and Ralph Schilha were admitted to the partnership. Michael Bergmann and Pavol Rak were designated as (non-equity) partners and will work as Senior Counsel in the future. The firm promoted 18 lawyers – including eight women – to the position of Associated Partner, and another six as Counsel.

Harvest Partners has named two new partners in its structured capital business effective 8 January 2018. The new partners – Steven Duke and Sean Murphy – co-lead the strategy and were formerly Managing Directors. Structured capital is Harvest’s non- control senior equity product.
Duke joined Harvest in 2014 and serves on the board of LAZ Parking.
Murphy joined Harvest in 2016 and serves on the boards of GPM Investments, Roland Foods and OTG Management.
