Outsourced investment office Partners Capital has added to its senior management team with the promotions of David Shushan and Toby Joll from Managing Director to Partner.
Four other promotions from Senior Principal to Managing Director were announced. This takes the firm to 17 Partners and Managing Directors, led by Stan Miranda as Founder and CEO.
Based in Boston, Shushan was promoted to Partner. Shushan joined Partners Capital in 2008 from McKinsey & Company and is responsible for the firm’s US Taxable Client Strategy as well as managing many of the largest US private client accounts.

Waterfall Asset Management has appointed Gene Weil and John Nelligan to launch and oversee the creation of a new financial services/specialty finance focused private equity platform, which will operate under the name Waterfall Milestone.
Weil and Nelligan were co-founders of Milestone Advisors, and for the past approximately five years, Weil was the Co-Head and Nelligan was a Managing Director of Houlihan Lokey’s financial institutions group. Between 2004 and 2016, investment banking teams led by Messrs. Weil and Nelligan were ranked No. 1 for all US specialty finance transactions based on the number of deals, according to SNL Financial.

Northern Trust has hired Edwin Chan (pictured), to spearhead sales across the alternatives fund sectors in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Reporting to John Grundy, institutional sales manager for Northern Trust’s Corporate & Institutional Services (C&IS) business in EMEA, Chan will focus on further accelerating the growth of specialist alternative asset servicing capabilities across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy and debt funds.

Peel Hunt, an independent corporate broking, advisory and trading house focused on UK mid and small caps, is pleased to announce the appointment of Harry Nicholas to the role of Associate Director in its Corporate Real Estate team, effective immediately.
Nicholas joins from Jefferies Hoare Govett, where he worked as Senior Vice President in the UK Investment Banking team across a range of FTSE100, FTSE250 and small cap clients. Fulcrum Asset Management (Fulcrum) has appointed Matthew Roberts as a Partner. He will be responsible for the creation of a new Alternatives Group that will invest in real assets and credit.
Matthew joins from Willis Towers Watson where he was a portfolio manager for the Towers Watson Partners Fund and related strategies amounting to USD10 billion. Prior to this he ran its multi-asset and multi-strategy hedge fund research teams.

UK lower mid-market investor, Tenzing, has appointed Rowena Murray to its investment team.
Murray joins Tenzing from Investec where she was a Director in the Investment Banking team. She joins the Tenzing team with immediate effect and will take responsibility for leading new investments and supporting the firm’s portfolio alongside Rob Jones and Mike Reynolds.

O’Connell is widely recognised as a leading authority on the commercialisation of geospatial data, having led GeoEye, a global provider of geospatial intelligence solutions as CEO for 12 years.
