The Pittsburgh office of global law firm K&L Gates has appointed Brian Vargo and Michelle Repp as partners in the firm’s investment management, hedge funds and alternative investments and corporate/M&A practices, respectively.
Vargo joins the firm from Dechert LLP, while Repp returns to K&L Gates from II-VI Incorporated, where she served as Corporate Counsel and Director of Legal Affairs.

Northgate Public Services (NPS) has appointed Royston Hoggarth as its Chairman.
Hoggarth brings extensive experience as CEO and Chairman of companies in the software, IT, telecoms and financial services industries, helping businesses to deliver significant expansion through improved customer focus.
He was formerly UK Managing Director for Hays plc; CEO of British Telecom’s Global Services business; CEO for the UK, US and European subsidiaries of Cable & Wireless; and CEO, International, at LogicaCMG. Prior to this, he spent 12 years working for IBM in a variety of roles, finally as General Manager for Distributions Services.

Alternative asset management firm TPG has named Jin-Yong Cai as a Partner, effective 1 February, 2016. Cai most recently served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”), a member of the World Bank Group.
In a newly-created role, Cai will work across TPG’s investment platforms to source opportunities in projects and companies that help to accelerate the economic growth of frontier and emerging markets. Cai will leverage his own transaction expertise and deep relationships across Asia, Africa and Latin America as well as the insight and operational strength of TPG.
