Vinson & Elkins (V&E) has promoted 10 lawyers to the firm’s partnership, effective 1 January, 2016.
The new partners are: Mike Heidler and Stephen Stout in Austin; Shaun Rogers and Danny Tobey in Dallas; Stephen Jacobson, Julian Seiguer, David Wall and Mingda Zhao in Houston; Dan Komarek in New York; and Jessica Mussallem in San Francisco.

Michiel Kotting is to private equity firm Northzone as a General Partner.
Kotting has spent the last five years at Accel in London. As a Partner focusing on fintech, security, infrastructure and marketplace businesses, he sits on the board of Accel’s investments in Catawiki, Fiverr, Vinted, Packlink and KNC. He was also closely involved in their investments in Spotify, Avito, Funding Circle, Calastone and Aorato.
Kotting got his start in tech when founding Digital Jones, an artificial intelligence company, which he sold to Shopping.com, where he joined the management team. His experience further adds to the strong entrepreneurial profile
Private equity firm Spire Capital Partners has promoted Kerri McNicholas to Vice President following what the firm describes as ‘two and a half years of exceptional contributions to the Spire investment team’.
Most notably, McNicholas was a critical deal team member that was relied upon heavily as new investments were made out of Spire's current investment fund. In addition to assisting in the initial acquisitions of Lighthouse eDiscovery, Surgent Professional Education and Performance Assessment Network, McNicholas continues to work closely with portfolio company management teams to evaluate strategic acquisitions and grow the businesses.

Pamplona Capital Management has appointed Justin Perreault as a partner as it continues to build its US-based private equity presence.
Perreault, who will be based in Boston, has over twenty years of information technology private investing and operating experience, and will be focussing on investing in the technology, media and telecom sectors. The Board of Gloo Networks, a technology company established to acquire and operate companies in the media sector, has appointed Arnaud de Puyfontaine, as Non-Executive Chairman of the Company, effective immediately.
De Puyfontaine is Chief Executive of Vivendi, the French media group. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Schibsted, a Scandinavian media group.
Along with the other Directors, he will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of Gloo. His extensive experience of media (and especially digital media) will be key to the successful implementation of the Company’s strategy.
