Private equity and investment advisory firm CVC Capital Partners (CVC) has hired Thomas J Kichler as a Partner and Head of Industrials and Energy in the United States.
Kichler joins CVC from One Equity Partners (OEP), where he was a Partner and Managing Director. He has over 13 years of experience in the private equity industry, and a proven track record in numerous transactions across the industrials and energy sector. Baird has named Steve Booth as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1 January, 2016. Booth adds the CEO title to his existing role as President.
Baird succeeds Paul Purcell, who will continue as Chairman of the employee-owned financial services firm.
Purcell and Booth both joined Baird in 1994. Booth previously led Baird’s Investment Banking team and served as co-head of the firm’s Equity Capital Markets business since 2006. Purcell was named President of Baird in 1998, added the title of CEO in 2000 and also became Chairman in 2006. Alternative Investment Management, (AIM), a privately-owned investment management firm has appointed Ryan Quinn as managing director, focusing on portfolio management and researching hedge fund and private equity managers and investments.

Private equity firm Vista Equity Partners has named Kenneth Frank as CEO of the newly combined global commerce solutions company formed by Vista’s November acquisition and merger of retail software leaders MarketLive and Shopatron.
Frank most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Vista portfolio company Aptean Software and brings to his new role more than 20 years of global experience in the software industry, with a particular focus on operations, product development, and strategic growth.

Based in Boston, Kesselheim is co-managing Leerink Capital Partners’ healthcare technology and services and digital healthcare investment initiative. He joins Todd Cozzens who recently came to Leerink Capital Partners from Sequoia Capital to lead Leerink’s healthcare growth equity effort.

Harris Williams & Co has hired two senior professionals in its London office. Edward Arkus joins as a managing director and William Bain as a director; both are joining the firm’s Consumer Group.

Berkshire Partners has appointed Samantha Adams and Thomas Kuo as Managing Directors effective 1 January, 2016.
Adams and Kuo join the 22 existing Managing Directors of Berkshire in managing the firm and its affiliated investment funds. Berkshire’s MDs have an average tenure of 16 years with the firm.
Adams joined Berkshire Partners in 2012 as Director of Talent Management. Prior to joining Berkshire, she held various positions at Bank of America, Hill Holiday Advertising, Discovery Health Channel and Bain & Co. She received an AB from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Todd W Betke has joined K&L Gates from Pepper Hamilton as a partner in the firm’s Washington DC office.
Betke focuses his practice on commercial, legal, and regulatory issues surrounding private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund formation, as well as related acquisitions and dispositions of portfolio companies and assets. He has served as outside counsel to dozens of funds over the course of his 20-year career, and has extensive experience with the formation, regulation, and operation of varying types of funds, including Small Business Investment Companies licensed by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
