Renewable Energy Trust (RET) Capital has promoted president and chief operating officer (COO) Karen Morgan to chief executive officer (CEO).
Morgan succeeds John Bohn, a former commissioner of the California Public Utilities Commission, who will continue as Executive Chairman. Morgan and Bohn co-founded RET Capital in 2012 along with Christian Fong, who today becomes the company’s new chief operating officer and chief investment officer. The trio will continue to work together closely on corporate strategy and operations.

​Growth equity firm General Atlantic has promoted Jörn Nikolay to managing director and Roni Elchahal, Andrew Ferrer, and Rajat Sood to principal.
Nikolay leads the firm’s Munich office. Elchahal is responsible for the firm’s EMEA capital partnering effort based in London, and Ferrer and Sood are senior investment professionals in the firm’s New York and Mumbai offices, respectively. The promotions will be effective as of 1 January, 2016.

BGF (Business Growth Fund) has appointed Mike Clarke to its investment team covering the North of England.
This is the third appointment BGF has announced this quarter as the firm continues to expand its presence across Yorkshire, the North East and the North West.
Clarke, who will be based in the Leeds office, joins BGF’s 60-strong nationwide team responsible for identifying investment opportunities and managing the deal process from origination through to completion. BGF’s investors also provide support either as board members or observers in the companies they back.

Northern Trust has appointed Belinda Burgess as head of Channel Islands, replacing Paul Cutts who assumes the newly created role of head of Alternative Investment Services for Northern Trust Global Fund Services across Europe, Middle East Africa (EMEA).
Burgess who joined Northern Trust in 2005 was most recently head of Northern Trust in the Nordics. Reporting to Wilson Leech, head of Northern Trust in EMEA, she is responsible for supporting the continued growth of Northern Trust’s business in the Channel Islands.

O’Malley takes over from Mark Greene who announced his intention to retire earlier this year. Greene will continue to serve on the OpenLink Board as an independent director.

An experienced industrial designer, Young will apply design methodologies to the innovation challenges and opportunities facing Anthemis’ advisory clients and portfolio companies. She will join Anthemis’ advisory team and report to Nadeem Shaikh, founder and president of Anthemis Group.

Karolinska Development AB has appointed experienced life science investor Viktor Drvota MD PhD as the firm’s new Chief Investment Officer.
Terje Kalland MD PhD, the Company's Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientific Officer, will retire from both positions effective 31 December, 2015.
Dr Drvota joins Karolinska Development from SEB Venture Capital, where he has been Head of Life Science since 2002 and a senior investment manager. Prior to this he was a practising cardiologist at Huddinge University Hospital in Stockholm for 11 years, and since 2002, Associate Professor in Cardiology at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm.
