Phil Sanderson, the former head of Travers Smith’s London private equity team, is joining Ropes & Gray as a partner in the firm’s London office.
Sanderson has established himself as one of the top private equity lawyers in the UK market over his 20-year career, and he has consistently ranked in the top tiers of Chambers UK and The Legal 500.
Particularly known as a market leader in mid-market private equity transactions, Sanderson advises private companies, institutional investors and management teams in all areas of private equity, UK and international buy-outs, and strategic M&A transactions.
In joining Ropes
bfinance, an independently owned investment consultancy, has added to its service and advisory capabilities in the Middle East with the hire of a senior consultant.
Navneet Maheshwari joins from Nasdaq Dubai and will be responsible for local market client relations for bfinance across the Middle East as well as the development of new business opportunities in the region.
At Nasdaq Dubai, Maheshwari was responsible for building the exchange’s equity capital markets business in the MENA and CIS region.

Prudential Capital Group has appointed Michael Berry as a managing director and head of its London office.
Prudential Capital Group, a provider of private capital, is an asset management business of Prudential Financial.
Berry’s appointment is effective immediately. He reports to Marie Fioramonti, managing director and head of Pricoa Capital Group, the non-US business of Prudential Capital Group, which has provided private placements and mezzanine financing in the UK and Europe for more than 30 years.

KKR has appointed Jaka Prasetya, former managing partner and founder of Leafgreen Capital Partners, as managing director to lead the firm’s Indonesia efforts as well as credit and special situations initiatives in Southeast Asia.
Also joining KKR in the role of director are Rahul Bhargava and Allan So, both formerly managing directors and partners at Leafgreen, a provider of mezzanine and structured growth funding in Southeast Asia.
Prasetya, Bhargava and So will be based in Singapore. The appointments are effective 26 August 2014.

Early-stage venture capital firm Amplify Partners has appointed Mike Dauber as general partner.
He joins from Battery Ventures, where he spent over six years driving investments in enterprise infrastructure and applications.

Murray joins Vector after 14 years at Blum Capital, where he was the chief financial officer and chief administrative officer.

Venture capital veteran Sonja Hoel Perkins has joined the advisory board of GridGain Systems, a provider of an open-source, in-memory computing (IMC) platform.
Perkins (pictured) brings over two decades of leadership and investment expertise in the high-tech industry, and currently serves as managing director of Menlo Ventures and founder of Broadway Angels.

Kate Mitchell, co-founder and partner of Scale Venture Partners and former chairman of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) board of directors, has re-joined NVCA’s board as a director.
Mitchell’s term will expire in 2016 and comes after Adam Grosser, managing director of Silver Lake Kraftwerk, resigned from the NVCA board.
Mitchell previously joined the NVCA board as a director in 2007 and then later served as chairman from 2010 to 2011.
