Adam Chester has joined the Jersey office of Walkers as a partner in the firm’s finance and corporate group. Prior to joining Walkers, Chester founded CGI Legal, an independent corporate legal services provider in Jersey, which provided non-contentious and transactional legal services.   Before that, he spent six years at Ogier in Jersey and five years practising as an English solicitor at two international law firms in London. European growth private equity firm Keensight Capital has promoted Philippe Crochet to the position of partner. Crochet (pictured) has 15 years of international experience in the telecom industry as well as in private equity.   He began his career in 1998 at Nortel, then moved on to Algety Telecom before working for the American-based Corvis Corporation (a manufacturer of optical networking equipment), where he held various roles within the marketing and sales teams.   In 2003, Crochet joined Partech International, a private equity firm located in Europe and the US, and specialised in the IT sector.   He was then

Alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group has appointed Jeffrey C Holland as managing director and head of the private client group. Holland comes to this newly-created position from Cole Real Estate Investments, where he was president and chief operating officer, overseeing the private capital and real estate groups.   Holland joined the firm on 17 March and is based in New York.   Holland will oversee the group responsible for the development of Carlyle's relationships with individual investors and intermediaries serving these investors. The group led by Holland will focus on arrangements with bank feeder funds and other financial advisors

Jason Allison has joined Walkers’ Cayman Islands office as a partner in the global investment funds group. Allison, an offshore investment funds practitioners, has close to ten years' experience advising on Cayman Islands law.   After spending over five years at Freshfields in London, he commenced his Cayman Islands career with Maples and Calder in 2004, becoming a partner there in 2007. In 2012, Allison left Maples and Calder to help establish the Cayman Islands office of another international offshore law firm.   Allison advises on Cayman Islands corporate and investment funds law, with particular expertise advising institutional clients on
Independent private investment company Ardian has appointed Tobias Gewolker as a director in the infrastructure team based in the firm’s Paris office. Ardian’s infrastructure team, led by Mathias Burghardt, invests in core infrastructure assets and partners with leading industrial players across Europe.   Last year it raised EUR1.75bn for Ardian’s Infrastructure Fund III.   Gewolker (pictured), a German national, has more than 13 years’ investment banking experience in the City of London, with a focus on energy and infrastructure.   Prior to joining Ardian, he worked at DC Advisory, preceded by four years at Barclays Capital. Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners has appointed John D Clark as a managing partner based in New York. Collas Crill has appointed Elena Moran as a group partner in its Jersey commercial dispute resolution team.
