The Riverside Company has named Tommy Seddon as field originator for the UK and Ireland.
In this role, Seddon will oversee Riverside’s efforts to source, analyse and acquire growing businesses in these key markets.
Seddon joined Riverside’s London team in 2013.
He succeeds Lars Eriksson, who had overseen efforts in the region prior to his recent promotion to director, head of European origination for Riverside.

Paris-based private equity firm Activa Capital has promoted Sophie Rouland to partner.
At the same time, Pierre Chabaud and Jean-Baptiste Salvin are both promoted to investment director and Denis Houdet becomes investment manager.

David Lonsdale has been promoted to partner at London-based private equity firm August Equity.
Lonsdale (pictured) joined August Equity in 2008 and most recently led the investment in Westpoint, the UK’s largest farm and production animal veterinary group which provides support services to the UK livestock and food industries.
He also holds board seats at Independent Vetcare and FSP.

Jersey Finance has appointed Richard Corrigan as its new deputy chief executive officer.
Corrigan (pictured), who joined Jersey Finance at the start of 2013, will continue to lead the organisation’s market development effort.
In his earlier banking career he held senior roles with both The Royal Bank of Scotland International and Barclays Wealth, working in a number of leading finance centres. Before moving to Jersey Finance, he was director for Barclays Wealth in Jersey.

Tim Farazamand, managing director at LDC, has taken over as chairman of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA).

Management consulting firm AT Kearney has expanded its private equity practice with the hiring of three new partners, Mark Anglin, Michael Dart and Todd Hooper, who specialise in consumer goods and retail investments.

Marc Spilker is to step down as president of alternative investment manager Apollo Global Management and as a member of the firm’s executive committee.
Apollo’s executive committee will continue to manage the firm and will rely upon the firm’s management committee of senior executives from the firm’s investment and infrastructure functions to assist in implementing the firm’s growth initiatives and manage day to day operations.
Members of Apollo’s executive committee are Leon Black, chairman and chief executive officer; Josh Harris, senior managing director; and Marc Rowan, senior managing director.

Corporate and finance lawyer Claire McConway has been appointed of counsel within the British Virgin Islands (BVI) practice of multi-jurisdictional offshore law firm Carey Olsen.
In this London-based role, McConway, who has practised corporate law for nine years at international UK and US firms in London, will focus on developing the firm's Russian practice.
She is a specialist in advice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and equity capital markets work.
McConway has particular expertise in corporate and finance transactions involving Russia and the CIS, which often use BVI companies, and has instructed on many
