Chelverton Asset Management (CAM) has appointed Richard Bucknell as investment director in its unquoted equities team.
The team is responsible for sourcing and executing quality investment opportunities in private UK companies for a range of high net worth (HNW) investors and private investment offices.
Bucknell (pictured), an experienced private equity investor, has been working with CAM as a consultant since September last year and will report to CAM’s managing director, David Horner.
Prior to CAM, Bucknell led more than 20 new investments in small and medium-sized enterprises, and has previously held senior investment management positions with Barclays Ventures,
Bridge Growth Partners, a growth-oriented private equity investment firm launched late last year, has appointed Phil Scanlan to the firm’s strategic advisory board.
Scanlan, an Australian businessman, stepped down as Australian consul-general in New York last year.
He is a former managing director of Coca-Cola Amatil.

CDC Group has appointed David Osborne as investment director.
Osborne joins CDC’s equity investments team, which provides capital directly to businesses across Africa and South Asia, focusing on sectors that have good potential for job creation.
Osborne has over 25 years of experience of private equity investing in both European and Asian markets.
Most recently, he was managing director of the investment firm CapAsia, which focuses on infrastructure investment in Central and South-East Asia. He led the firm’s Islamic Infrastructure Fund, making investments in the Islamic countries of emerging Asia including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia.

State Street has appointed two senior executives to its alternatives investment solutions' (AIS) North American private equity fund services team.
Suresh Krishnamurthy and Cesar Estrada, both senior managing directors, will lead teams dedicated to servicing alternative fund of funds, limited partner, direct and hybrid structures.
They will report to Bhagesh Malde, head of private equity and real estate fund services for North America and Asia Pacific.

International investment bank Altium has strengthened its UK team following the promotion of four senior staff.
Katie Hobbs has been promoted to director in the London office. She joined the firm in 2008 from Goldman Sachs and has worked on a number of transactions including the sale of Mentor to VINCI Energies and the sale of ActivInstinct to JD Sports.

ACE Group has expanded its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) practice into a private equity practice concentrating on insurance solutions for private equity firms, their portfolio companies as well as their M&A transactions.

Wynnchurch Capital, a middle-market private equity firm, has appointed Jude Thompson to its newly formed executive advisory board.
Thompson was most recently president and co-CEO of Papa John's International, the world's third largest pizza company.
Previously, Thompson held several leadership roles at WellPoint, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, most recently as divisional president. In this role, he was responsible for management of the company's individual business unit in the 14 states served by WellPoint, which generated more than USD5bn in revenue.
