Law firm Reed Smith has appointed leveraged finance partner Ben Davis to its UK finance practice.
Davis (pictured), previously at Travers Smith, will join the firm’s London office on 18 March.
Travis’s practice focuses primarily on leveraged finance; he also advises on corporate facilities, refinancings, debt restructurings and general banking matters. His clients have included private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, financial institutions and alternative lenders.
His recent representations include a number of debt funds and alternative lenders participating in the leveraged finance market (involving senior, unitranche, mezzanine and PIK facilities). He will draw on Reed Smith’s full-service capability in
Fund governance firm DMS Offshore Investment Services has expanded its FATCA task force with the addition of Alaina Danley, formerly director of finance at Bain Capital, and Jennifer Dimitri, formerly director of investment compliance at the University of North Carolina endowment system.
Now comprising seven members, the DMS FATCA Task Force is led by Peter Stafford, formerly a senior partner with Appleby.

Phil White and Ben Loomes are to be appointed as co-managing partners of 3i Group’s infrastructure business, when current managing partner Cressida Hogg leaves the company at the end of March.
White and Loomes will be in charge of portfolio management and strategic development respectively. In addition, White will join 3i Group’s executive committee.
The business’s investment origination and fundraising activity will be led by Neil King, who will become senior partner and will also join 3i’s executive committee.

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has appointed Dinesh Moorjani as an executive-in-residence (EIR).
Moorjani (pictured) will work with Warburg Pincus to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the mobile industry globally.
Moorjani was the founder and CEO of Hatch Labs, a mobile technology incubator and captive investment fund. Prior to Hatch Labs, he served as a senior vice president at IAC/InterActiveCorp and started the Mobile Group in 2007 where he was responsible for mobile strategy, operations and product development for IAC's leading businesses like Match.com and Citysearch.

Healthcare-focused private equity firm Enhanced Equity Funds (EEF) has appointed Matthew Thompson as a vice president.
"Matthew brings extensive healthcare experience to Enhanced Equity," says Malcolm Kostuchenko, partner and co-founder of Enhanced. Debu Purkayastha has joined Octopus Investments’ ventures team as entrepreneur-in-residence.
Purkayastha joins Octopus following six years at Google, where he held senior roles globally in its M&A, investments and new business development teams.
In his role as entrepreneur-in-residence, Purkayastha will be working with the team at Octopus to identify new investment opportunities and support the entrepreneurs and management teams in the portfolio to help them develop and realise the full growth potential of their businesses.

Hudson Ferry Capital has promoted Robert Athas to vice president, responsible for leading business development efforts and managing the firm’s intermediary relationships.

HIG Capital has recruited two experienced private equity investors, Johannes Huttunen and Johan Pernvi, to the firm’s London team.
Huttunen was formerly at Silverfleet Capital where he worked on the origination and execution of transactions as part of the team in London. Before that he was at European Capital, working on UK buyouts, and in the healthcare M&A team at Deutsche Bank in London.
Pernvi was previously a senior investment manager at publicly listed Swedish private equity company, Ratos, where he worked on buyout transactions. Before that he was at Bain & Co
Paul Canning, HIG London managing
Anna Lekston has joined the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) as senior public affairs manager.
She will take the lead for the association on a number of policy issues including Solvency II, the Structure of Banking as well as the review of the European System of Financial Supervision and the IORP Directive.
Lekston joins the EVCA from the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU, where she was first counsellor for financial services between 2009 and 2013. Prior to that, she spent five years at the Polish Ministry of Finance where she was head
