AllianceBernstein has appointed Michael H Conn as managing director – strategy, operations and development, supporting the firm's fund of funds business. He will be based in Los Angeles and report to Marc Gamsin, head of AllianceBernstein's alternative investment management group.     In this newly created role, Conn will work closely with Gamsin to develop the business strategy and new products for the group, as well as support existing and potential clients. He will also collaborate with the broader alternatives team to enhance the firm's diverse product offerings and help clients better understand the role alternatives can play in their portfolio.
Pritzker Group Private Capital’s healthcare investment partner, Michael Dal Bello, has been named president of the Healthcare Private Equity Association, a trade group comprised of more than 50 private equity firms representing 400 healthcare portfolio companies. As president, Dal Bello (pictured) will lead the organisation’s advocacy, research and communication efforts when he takes office in July.   Dal Bello joined Pritzker Group Private Capital in December from Blackstone Group, where he invested more than USD7bn of equity capital in 13 transactions while helping to lead the firm’s sourcing efforts in healthcare. Fondations Capital has promoted Arnaud de Cazanove to associate. De Cazanove (pictured) has been with the firm since 2013 when he joined as an analyst and is actively involved in several of its investments, including Courtepaille and Sepur.   De Cazanove started his career in 2010 in the investment banking division of Nomura in London where he focused on the technology, media and telecom industries and subsequently moved to Paris to be part of the French coverage team.   Prior to this, he worked at Vivendi in the strategy and development department and as a strategy consultant for Oliver Wyman.
CDC Group, the UK’s development finance institution (DFI), has appointed Ritu Kumar as director, environmental and social responsibility. Kumar (pictured) will work across the environmental and social remit with a specific focus on CDC’s direct equity investments, as well as the environmental and social performance and value-add of CDC’s investments through DFID’s Impact Fund.    Kumar will also lead CDC’s approach to climate change. She will work closely with Mark Eckstein, fellow director for environmental and social responsibility, in the management of the environmental and social responsibility team and its support to CDC’s portfolio of debt, equity and fund investments.

Private equity firm GenNx360 Capital Partners has appointed Latasha M Akoma as operating partner. Akoma reports to Lloyd G Trotter, founding and managing partner.   Akoma will focus on driving strong performance, operational efficiencies and profitability across the GenNx portfolio companies in addition to working with its deal team to identify and evaluate new opportunities.    Most recently, Akoma held several management posts at Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Gaw Capital Partners USA has appointed Roman Nemtsov as senior vice president, investments. Alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group has named Jackie Roberts as chief sustainability officer, a newly created position. Roberts comes to Carlyle from the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), where she was a senior director of the Idea Bank for the US Climate and Energy Program.   Roberts begins her duties in mid-February and will be based in Washington, DC.   Roberts will lead Carlyle’s global environmental, social and governance efforts (ESG) and work closely with its portfolio companies to drive understanding and adoption of ESG principles.   Carlyle co-CEO and chief investment officer William E Conway, Jr, says: “With her
