J Rich Alexander, who held a number of senior operating executive positions during a 35-year career at PPG Industries, has joined Advent International as an operating partner.
He will work closely with Advent's chemicals team to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities in the chemicals and materials sector and create value in existing portfolio companies.
Alexander (pictured) serves on the board of directors of Allnex, a supplier of coating resins and additives that Advent acquired last year from Cytec Industries.
Alexander most recently was a member of PPG's executive and operating committees and oversaw the company's global
New York-based private equity firm AUA Private Equity Partners has promoted Daniel Hodges to senior associate.
Hodges focuses on investments in the consumer, media and business services sectors and has over seven years of private equity and corporate finance experience.

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has appointed Peter Kukielski as an executive-in-residence.
Kukielski (pictured) will work to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the mining industry globally with a view to forming a new mining company.
Kukielski was previously chief executive of ArcelorMittal Mining where he built the company's global mining business into one of the world's five largest iron ore and metallurgical coal producers.
Prior to joining ArcelorMittal, Kukielski held senior executive positions at several other mining companies, including Teck Resources, Falconbridge and Noranda (now Glencore Xstrata) and Rio Algom (now BHP Billiton).

Venture capital firm Accel Partners has appointed Eric Wolford as venture partner.
Most recently he served as president, products group for Riverbed Technology, and was recently appointed to the Riverbed board of directors as well as the board's strategy committee.
During his 10-plus years at Riverbed, Wolford led a number of functions including products, marketing and development that helped to take the company public and deliver growth from zero to USD1bn in annual revenue.

Following a restructure, fiduciary and fund services specialist Abacus has formed the Abacus Financial Services Group.
The new group structure will include Abacus’ two entities in Malta, Abacus Financial Services (Malta) Limited (AFSML) and Abacus Corporate Services Limited (ACSL), and Abacus Financial Services Limited (AFSL) in the Isle of Man.
Former managing director of AFSML and AFSL Paul Kneen (pictured) will head the new group as chief executive officer. Martin Heaney has been promoted to managing director of AFSL.

Regulatory reporting specialist KNEIP has promoted Stephanie Noel to head of operations and as a member of the executive board.
As part of her new role, Noel will be responsible for KNEIP’s Regulatory Reporting product, which helps fund managers to comply with transparency requirements under regulation such as the Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD) and UCITS.
She will report directly to Lee Godfrey, deputy CEO at KNEIP.

Growth equity firm General Atlantic (GA) has appointed Jan-Michiel Hessels, former chairman of NYSE Euronext, as a special advisor in Europe based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Hessels (pictured) brings over 30 years of experience across many industries to the role, and will work closely with GA’s global investment team to identify new investment opportunities as well as provide strategic support for the firm’s portfolio companies.

Lowenstein Sandler is bolstering its private equity and mergers and acquisitions practices with the addition of private equity M&A lawyer Michael A. Brosse as a partner in its corporate department.
Brosse joins Lowenstein Sandler's New York office from Kirkland & Ellis, where he has been a partner since 2000.
